Ira Steven Behr is a huge TV nerd. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of TV character actors and because of that he used that knowledge to hire the best one off and guest characters of any Trek.
I was googling Nana and her family because I was curious, but I fell down a rabbit hole. 😂 At first I saw Sid’s (Siddig El Fadil) uncle Malcolm McDowell’s son Charlie. & I was like hey he’s hot! But then I saw that Phil Collins is his father in law he’s married to Lily Collins! So now I hate him because he married my girl! 😆 I’m a complicated man 🧐
This episode is extremely well acted by everyone. The twist at the end, with the episode ending on a high note is counter to how most DS9 episodes end so it’s a really nice change. Garak revealing more of himself is also a nice treat.
Jeeze, spoilers! I haven't watched the episode yet.
You just can't trust those dang dirty Cardies!!
Bloody Cardassians! (I need to work on my Irish accent) 😂 i'll just call them spoonheads instead.
Banger after banger so far this season. I hope you continue to enjoy!
So my first watch this episode was a b, it has moved up to a low a it will be exciting to see you guys see it
I'm around the same rank as you high B or low A.
I know they like Kira, but I hope as the show goes on they start giving her more props. By the end of the show it becomes very clear that she is the best character on DS9
That's a spoilery comment type they said they don't like. It doesn't give direct spoiler, but sets them up to be looking out for something.
Plain....simple, awesome!
Ooh, very nice trailer! It was very good at capturing the tension
Very good.
I upgraded my membership for season 3, staying for the trailers...
One detail about the Cardassians that they made sure to include, but never point out -- All Cardassian women have the "forehead spoon" colored blue while the men do not. I can't think of any other Star Trek species that has a similar gender distinction
I always assumed it wasn't actually a physical characteristic, but an in-canon make-up application choice by the females. Eyeliner, lipstick, spoonshadow. But now I doubt that because I don't think the first thing and abducted, surgically altered-Kira would do is apply a full face of makeup...
Second Skin? More like second Trailer this Week!
Visitor, like Robinson, found the Cardassian make-up very claustrophobic. Maybe she drew on this for Kira's mental spiral.
You guys enjoying the proper start of DS9 I take it?
Roll on Saturday i can't wait to find out what you think of this. I know it's common for O'Brien to suffer, but i think most of them do each season, certainly Kira. I didn't used to be a huge fan of this episode about 20 years ago, but loved it when i watched it about a month ago. I'm pretty sure you will both love it too. I've not yet seen your reaction to this obviously, or the previous one but i predict based on the first 5 episodes you will both be feeling more confident at this now being your main show.
I'm thinking they will like this one. As opposed to the Dominon, they seem to like the Cardassian stuff, and this is the kind of good acting/character based msytery they should enjoy, plus Garak being Garak.
Lots of trailers for this season so far. Is this a good sign? S2 and s1 only got a couple?
They used to do them for episodes they really liked, but more recently for episodes where they thought they could make a good trailer, and it seems like they're on a roll with it.
I know they said they're taking a break but apparently they're watching stuff on patreon when are we going to see it on YouTube? Also I thought they were watching Chaos on the Bridge soon.
They took their break back in November/December. They're watching again right now. YouTube edits should be out in February.
"Josh, get some sun.” “No sun. Trailers… only trailers.”
There’s no sun in Ohio anyway.
LETS GOOOOOOO
To Cardassia Prime? As much as i love stories about Cardassians, personally give me a week on Risa anytime... Ideally just not the same week Picard and Vash went there, right Josh?😂
Hope you guys are enjoying that DS9 reverted to episodic after your worries of serialized "everything is dominion" stories. Even more hope you are enjoying that everyone has weird pasts and everything has consequences to their world.
I'm still a bit worried that Alex specifically seems to really not like the idea of the Dominion and the more "epic" plots and will have an initial bad reaction if a Dominion plot comes up because "oh no, the plot and its serious"
We are 5 for 5 on trailer for ds9 season 3 will we go 26/26 we shall we. Don't think any season of star trek so far has had this strong a start of episodes
This is an episode where the concept is kind of stupid but man do they pull it off. IMO.
The precedent was set when Troi got Romulanized. There should be word for getting kidnapped and being surgically altered into a different species...
I don’t know how you guys are sustaining this pace with the trailers, but I’m not complaining. Another great one.
Josh has his YouTube channels as his primary job now.
It seems like you are liking this season so far then.
"they do trailers of episodes they like" "they do trailers of episodes they like and dislike" i think they just enjoy editing trailers 😅
I knew it! The only question was if Josh had the time.
Never forget the betrayal of the Blood Oath trailer lmao
Your episode opinions are questionable, lol joking, but someone in Hollywood should be hiring you to do trailers.
At some point they should do a "Jake's shirts" video
Stellar work!
