IF WISHES were HORSES, then HORSES shall RUN! Minor SPOILER BOYS, but keep watching! I've been waiting for you guys to get Terok Nor in the Mirror Universe! The Terran Empire ended up mirroring the Mongolian Empire. It conquered all of Asia, save India and Europe for the world, but once they converted to Buddhism they laid their arms down, and the Mirror Universe Spock took the Terran Empire down the same path, allowing the Klingons and Cardassians to merge and defeat the Terrans/Earthlings. I loved this episode and am so glad you arrived!
I usually love a good mirror universe episode. But this version of a mirror universe annoys me. I usually just skip it in my rewatch.
Spellbinding, Seductive, Shamelessly Self-Simping Slut Savagely Subjugates Station Servants. Serendipitously, Sulking Sex-Slave Sisko Switches Sides, Scuttling Smiley's Serious Sentence.
I'm not opposed to a Mirror Universe episode, but I don't much care for the story they gave us here. I'm sure the actors had fun with this one, but it seemed a bit over the top to me. C-tier.
I thought this was cool. It was fun to explore this dark, different place, and Nana Visitor is great here. I think tying it in with TOS is neat. And there's an exploding Odo. 😳
Mirror, Mirror worked because TOS was more primary colours in terms of good and evil. So it is a once-off fun episode. It doesn't justify exploring an alternative universe, which is just opposites. Crossover is just the same plot again. Get stranded in the Mirror Universe and somehow get back home, taking in some of the 'sights' in between.
I kind of applaud the restraint of waiting to do a Mirror, Mirror sequel until DS9.
It's possible TNG didn't want a direct association with TOS. The collective amnesia of the Enterprise D crew about the Enterprise (A) crew repeatedly saving the Earth, saving the timeline, saving the populated parts of the galaxy, etc. seemed to be deliberate.
Not quite S tier, but very good
D for me. I wish I liked the Mirror Universe, but I just don’t. It’s great to see our actors stretch their skills, but I hate how oversexualized and melodramatic these stories are.
Well ONE character was hypersexualized... Everyone else was a victim thereof.
unlike others, i enjoy the mirror universe, especially KIra - but in this episode Avery Brooks is so over the top it is mesmerizing - i could watch and listen to him enunciate "Intendant" (emphasis on dant) all day
I am not a fan. Just meh! Although I do like mirror Kira.
