We need to see them fail. Because right now every time they break the prime directive it works out. At some point a couple seasons ago Picard mentions that anytime the Federation interferes with a pre warp civilization things go bad. That’s what I want to see. We need an episode where the crew chooses the moral high ground but end up making things worse. That would raise the stakes for all future prime directive storylines.
The lady was black 😆 🤣 😂
I think Worf mentioned a human brother in season 1. Just a single sentence acknowledging he had one.
This episode is meh for me, I guess I'm more of a Who Watches the Watchers guy
“I hate that our beloved characters are at the mercy of poor writers.” Sigh. Unfortunately, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
Television story by… this is because in fact the story came out of someone else’s idea. I’m not sure why the idea person was not credited here.
Yes, the Prime Directive has been broken a number of times. But Picard is still a Starfleet captain and the directive has not been revoked or even changed as far as we know. There will always be a conflict in cases like this…
Suppose they got rid of the Prime Directive and started from scratch. How developed would a species need to be for you to reveal the existence of the Federation? When would you interfere in that species' evolution? Only when there is an extinction level event, or in any event where there is large scale loss of life?
They’d be developed to the technological level of “Hey, those primitives have something we want. Let’s give them civilization in exchange for it.” Just like the Spanish did for the Central Americans. Probably with similar results.
Wouldn't they see that all the stars are wrong- even IF they are told they are in a different hemisphere?
I mean if they did what are they gonna do about it? lol
Paul Sorvino as Worf's foster brother was a bizarre choice...not bad, just weird....I give this an A for prime directive issues but it goes down to a C for execution
