Honestly? Perfect episode for former Muppet movement choreographer and theater veteran Cheryl "Gates" McFadden.
Loved this trailer. Very fun! Great music choice. This one has an extremely dumb script with zero understanding of science. But, wow, Gates McFadden directs the hell out of it. She really gets the horror vibe correct. Another one where it would always be bad due to the script but the director nails the vibe. Funny that the two directors doing this in Season 7 are Frakes and McFadden.
The best and well directed
Barclay as his own version of spiderman scared the hell out of me as a child. Its one of my favs of this series though. Some really bizarre goings on. It ain't classic trek and evolution has some bizarre twists here. Still it's a memorable episode that had its traumatic effect on me as a child.
This one of my guilty pleasures. Scared the crap out of me as a kid.
One of the best examples that Star Trek writers really do not understand how evolution works.
In a world where we are in the seventh season and need to dig deep for the next tale...
Loved this trailer…”Visionary Director…Gates McFadden” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 (actually she does a spectacular job)
Excellent.... tastebuds moist ! Lets GO!!! ;p
I forget when did this originally aired was it Halloween episodes? Braga was definitely behind some of the more goofier episodes. Definitely one of the more creative eps of s7 , and giving this one to Gates was an interesting choice almost seems like more of a Frakes option, but she did a decent job
Nah - it premiered in March
As horror fans I figured they would like this as something different. I thought it wasn’t too bad but it certainly not prime trek. But it is different
I'm sure many enjoy this episode. For me it is another out there season 7 episode....way out there...that just adds to the sense that everyone working on the show was now just throwing wild suggestions into the mix.
This was the first episode I saw Barclay in as a kid. Left an impression :)
Hey here is a quick run down. Dr. Crusher creates a nightmare plague and can't fix it. Data fixes it. Add Doctor to jobs that Data is the best at.
I always loved this episode when I was younger. Sure, it doesn't technically make sense, but I don't care.
Oh yeah, this one's going to be a delightful reaction. BEST jump scare in all of Trek!
The trailer is better than the episode!
I think they like it if they made a trailer for it. This is a guilty favorite of mine since most people seem to not like it for some reason?
People shit on this one but I fucking love it. I’m a huge horror fan and Gates did an INCREDIBLE job with the atmosphere of this one. Okay, so the explanation behind what’s going on is wonky…but that fits for a B-grade body horror film. I’m all in.
Do they?? People need to lighten up and have some fun.
I'm excited for your reaction to the director reveal.
I absolutely love this gloriously bad episode and your trailer does it full justice. I'm more pumped for this reaction than Neanderthal Riker trying to score himself a Ready Room snack.
Congrats: Your first trailer that's better than the episode.
Thanks, guys for this early trailer. I'm so hyped now. I guess I have to play this on loop till you drop the episode
🎶 You say this is de-evolution, wellllllll, you know... we don't wanna change to squirrels...
I was excited before but now I’m pumped! Awesome trailer for an awesome episode. 13th October… hell, it might as well be Halloween
I can't remember, did Picard at the end say there were no casualties, despite walking past a sliced up corpse? And what the hell happened to the children? Were they trapped in a classroom with apex predator Alexander? Or did his half-human DNA mess him up but good?
Alexander probably turned into a snail
Well then, I suppose they hated this episode?
Two horror guys hating horror. For sure.
Oh love this fun trailer for a fun episode
Oh yeah baby, so hyped for this. Season 7 ain't going down without a fight
Where’s the Blood Oath one though 😭
Agree Blood Oath deserves it more than this ep, so it figures there wouldn’t be one
Been waiting 7 seasons for this one. One of my favorite episodes. i'm guessing from the hype trailer you guys loved it to too.
Great trailer!
"From the twisted mind of..." Classic lol
He now scuttles fear through Enterprise halls, Eight legs clicking on starship walls. From timid man to monstrous sight— Reg’s worst anxieties spun too tight.
GIVE. ME. GENESIS!
This is a good sign. I love this insane episode.
This episode was fantastic. The other thing I like about it was it's got big replay value. It never gets boring and horror like this is pretty timeless. Yes, evolution doesn't work this way but who cares? This is such a turn-off-your-brain and have creepy fun kinda episode. Perfect for October! I don't know if I like it as much as Night Terrors. It's tough to compare the two, as they are two different horror genres. But I think this one may have slightly more replay value.
I ADORE this episode! I don't care what anyone says. This was MADE for fans of cheesy horror. A+ Rank. Fight me lol
Another banger of a trailer guy!!! Love it!!!
Another banger
just in time for spooky season!
Always had a soft spot for this bonkers episode. Well done!!
One of my favorites of season 7. I can't wait for this, boys. I'm jazzed.
You know they love an episode when they take the time to make a trailer for it lol
Well done
Ah. Cinema at its finest.
Man, they must have LOVED it if we got a cinematic trailer this early. Of course they would love the horror episode.
Allowed is not! Is episode forbidden!! I KNEW you guys couldn’t resist the chance at a cinematic trailer once you got a peak at this baby! Happy Spocktober! A+ 😱
I mean it's not Melora level of undeserving but 😬 (Excellent editing as usual though)
GIVE ME GENESIS!! Forgot just how bonkers this episode is, really look forward to rewatching it with yall. Appropriate episode for October too!
Oh man I am hoping this episode hit all your horror-loving marks. It's so fun and well acted, imho!
I knew you guys would like this. At least, I assume you do based on this trailer.
Most Star Trek fans I know cannot stand it when Star Trek does horror...which is weird. You would think there would be more fanbase crossovers between Sci-Fi and horror. But like Josh and Alex, my love is and always will be horror first, and sci-fi second. This episode was made for the horror fans. lol.
Well done! This is brilliant! Gates should have been directing long before this episode.
Well done! Love this.
