notes about the artist
This artwork is by Jay, who goes by jayarts. His work centers expressive, intimate portraits that feel personal, lived-in, and emotionally honest. There’s a quietness to his style. The kind that invites you to slow down and actually sit with the image instead of scrolling past it. His art often captures everyday moments with softness and intention, highlighting vulnerability, care, and connection in a way that feels natural rather than staged.
What really drew me to his work is how familiar it feels. The expressions, the stillness, the intimacy. It feels like a moment you’ve lived before or one you recognize instantly. His art balances strength and tenderness beautifully, creating pieces that feel both grounded and emotionally rich.

I hope this set feels like a small moment of rest and reflection for my community. A reminder that Black softness, love, and care are not extras, they’re essential. <33
