New "Save File Diaries" + Rebuilding My Mods Folder From Scratch
Hey guys! Hope your week is going super well. ✨ The new expansion pack has been out for a whole week already, and I've spent 95% of my (very) limited free time playing with one of my first characters in Innisgreen–an elderly witch named Margarite–and, of course, inside of CAS, making a variety of different fae to populate the world.
Which got me thinking... 💭
I mentioned in a previous post that I want to start sharing more story-related content here, but it's going to take a while before those stories are ready, and the problem is, I can't very well share anything if I don't have finished worlds: places to take pictures, a complete cast of characters, mods and NPC's that make the world feel alive.
In other words, there's a lot of work to be done, so instead of building it alone in the background (like the hermit I am), I want to invite you into the process with me 👉 the planning, the plotting, the decorating, the lore-writing, the character-making, the worldbuilding. All of the magic! 🪄
Join me as I build my first-ever forever save inside my upcoming "Save File Diaries"
Starting the second week of August, I will be launching a weekly "Save File Diaries" series that will be published for patrons who are interested in my creative process and want a deeper, more immersive look into my writing and world-building.
A few topics I'll be covering inside these posts:
Character profiles, backstory development, and family trees
WIP builds with detailed screenshots, build tours, floorplans, and design commentary
Developmental lore dumps
Behind-the-scenes commentary on how I write, craft stories & characters, and bring my ideas to life in game
Exclusive video content: thinking exclusive walkthroughs, Let's Plays, or rotational series as I play-test the world(s)
Patron-only polls where you can help shape part of the lore or what happens in-game
My personal writing tips, planning and plotting templates, trackers, mods lists, and CC rec's
This series will mostly cover the development of my "forever save" that I'm creating for the larger stories taking place in Twinbrook and Bridgeport, but it'll also include updates from the medieval fantasy world I'm developing for my gameplay series (teaser below 👇) I'm thinking of turning that into a video series, but TBD. My rig and I are of a ripe age, so not sure what all she can handle yet! 😂
In other news: I'm rebooting my mods folder from scratch
Nobody likes to hear that, do they? 😖 Least of all me, a master clutterer and CC hoarder. But, it finally had to happen. My game was taking 15 minutes to load, and searching the catalogue for anything took just as long, so I dared to open my Build/Buy folder–all 25,000+ files–with the intention of cleaning it out, only to discover that a ton of files were merged with very helpful names like "clutter.package." 😔
When they tell you, "Don't install CC from lots," heed the warning ⚠️ I knew better, but...here we are 😂 I had to nuke the whole thing so that I could do better this time.
Since I'm rebuilding it from scratch, that means I'm setting up a sparkly clean file structure and process for adding new content to my game. I'm kind of a nerd about this stuff–are you that way? Would you be interested in seeing how I'm organizing my files, etc? I'm thinking of making a post about CC management–how I organize my files, track updating mods, fave creators, etc.
Let me know in the comments! 💬👇

I am also a nerd in that way! My computer files are ridiculously organized meanwhile my house is what I call Organized Chaos lol- would love to see your strategy for keeping your CC tidy! Absolutely love that type of content it helps give fresh ideas and sometimes I can limit the subfolders upon subfolders like Russian nesting dolls which is my personal go to
Yay! Glad I'm not the only one – and I'm the same way!!! OCD about my file org but please don't look in my actual closet 🙈 I love that type of content, too. It's always super helpful to see how other people manage their files, and I'll be honest it feels good starting fresh. I get to do it all over with intention this time. Excited to share my strategy with you!
