Swordfighting Skill

Hi all <3 I have a question.

I had promised a swordfighting skill early last year, but life took some big turns and I wasn’t able to finish it. Now that I’m back in a steadier place and planning what’s next, I want to honor that promise -- if it’s still something people would actually use, given that it's included in the new pack.

With Royalty & Legacy out now, would you still want or use a base game swordfighting skill? (Feel free to drop a comment if you have specific thoughts.)

Since I mostlikely will never buy the royalty and legacy dlc, I would rather have you make a mod, I love you mods!

Anne Elberg · March 22, 2026

I won't buy the Royalty pack so I'd be very happy if you made this! (I was too late for the poll btw, so count one more "Yes" please)

I would love it, maybe something functional for all game players

Hated_by_fanta · March 9, 2026

If you create a better version of sword fighting I'd download it 100%! Like some other have already mention you could make it work with a number of the mods you have already created.

Patching your blacksmith skill and being able to craft weapons, to be used with the swordfighting skill from Royalty & Legacy pack.

M
Mezorigi · February 22, 2026

Honestly, I would love to see what you can do with it, as your mods tend to be far more detailed and well thought out than EA. Also, many of us have don't have and don't plan to get the new dlc. I would really love to be able to able to use the swordfighting in conjunction with your blacksmithing mod as well (as others have said)

Lady Calliope · February 22, 2026

Yeah please update I’ll get this mod once it’s a huge upgrade and functionality around the Royalty and legacy

M
Mickie Snider-Smith · February 18, 2026

Also it would be cool if we could use the weaponry we make with your blacksmithing skill mod with the fencing skill!

a
avaesthetics · February 17, 2026

I would love your swordfighting, but maybe could it be an extension of the royalty and legacy one? So maybe both can be used?

Yokozii · February 16, 2026

I would like a blacksmith career with it or a gig for forging swords and bow & arrows or Maces any medieval kind of weaponry , sharpening swords on a waterstone foot wheel also...and different types of swords for animations say sparing or fighting a sim with the sword skill also if sparing or enemy fight can be duel instead. small swords and daggers for the ladies with leg arm and hip harness. in game equip and unequip options. also ta small detail if you have the sword skill to harvest plants with a knife and the ye olde game where you tie a sim's hands a feet to a big wooden spinning wheel and throw swords and daggers at them blindfolded to see if you hit the target or risk stabbing the sim lol

Oui, il faut le sortir. Je n'ai pas l'intention d'acheter le dernier DLC pour le moment, mais je fais des parties Historiques...

Peach Creator Studios · February 15, 2026

There is no sword fighting still that is compatible with the base game. For players who may not want to buy a DLC to access features, or have bought it but would prefer to remove it from their library, this mod would give them the ability to do so. Also if the skill functions similarly to your archery skill, and allows players to craft swords, that would be an additional unique feature provided by you.

omg yes this !

Mod creator Zero has swordfighting skill mod. With a sword plaque wall decorator, buying sword and usable to sword challenges. The sword fighting sound could be improved.

M
Mickie Snider-Smith · February 15, 2026

New pack swordfighting is still wonky, and I wish we had more options for duelling anyway

T

I would love it! Paywalling skills like EA does is awful. Also the boycott. And also your mods are always so fantastic!

From someone boycotting any new EA purchases because of the broken packs and the buy out by the Saudi Arabian Government, please do. The EA sword fighting also seems like a reskin of the acting career sword fighting, so PLEASE create the skill.

is there a way you could add swordfighting tournament events to the regency romance mod? one where sims could compete and perhaps be rewarded with a lady's favour at the end? (bonus if this increases your chances of success when courting them). i dont really mind a swordfighting skill either way, i just hope it would be integrated with llazyneiph's royalty mod and its practice stump, since i use both and i'd rather not have a duplicate skill. speaking of which, is the skill from your archery mod going to be integrated with the one from adventure awaits? bc i like being able to craft bows and use them, and its cool that your archery skill contributes to sims who hunt for meat, but it is a little weird to have 2 skills for the same thing

K
Kijikun · February 14, 2026

Maybe something that cam work base game but has hooks that work with the skill from the documents as well?

I
Itsa Fakename · February 14, 2026

I think it would be really cool if you made a sword fighting skill that uses the swords you can make with your blacksmith skill. Like how with your archery skill we can make our own bows and arrows and then use them.

G
GXworld · February 14, 2026

Perhaps you should expand this swordsmanship and switch from solo swordsmanship to group swordsmanship for combat, which would be very in line with medieval warfare!

N

Yesss! If only!

L
Lorestory · February 14, 2026

many colors and shapes of swords would be really cool and fun. the more swords in my game, the better especially when functional. also ur instrument mods are some of my favorite mods. i like that its a skill with learnable stuff. chances are u would do something really epic with swords too if u do things with swords

Can't agree more on more shapes and types of swords! For example, I'd like to simply have a wooden alternative or simple steel for adventurers and less wealthy sims. Also, perhaps, toy sword and training dummy for the children!

A
Alanna Booplesnoot · February 14, 2026

Absolutely! I swore off buying EA packs since the buyout, so modders are what keep the game worth playing for me (which was also the case before EA sold-out, but is more so the case now)

D
DreamiNae · February 14, 2026

Can you please update the ballet skill so that it can be used as an activity inside the adventure awaits get away menu for custom venues

Love all of your work, thank you for all that you do!! I think adding onto what they just released with new fights/styles/animations and like someone said above, have real consequences like injuries and fights to the death.

S
Sword Cats · February 14, 2026

I think something different would be great! Llazyneiph's Royalty Mod also includes swordfighting, so I think it would be nice if you could do something entirely different instead.

T

I’d be interested if it added something different and new to what the pack already has.

˖⁺‧₊˚♡˚₊‧⁺˖ VvVeronika ˖⁺‧₊˚♡˚₊‧⁺˖ · February 15, 2026

+! The skill in the EP seems pretty straightforward, and not very interesting. And only one sword variation if I'm not wrong. Expanding on it would be a great idea!

I’m so happy things are on the uptick for you, Jane! I know I’m not in the minority when it comes say that I’m beyond grateful for what you do, but I would want you happy and at your best. That being said, I’m not buying anymore packs. You and other modders are the heart and backbone of this game and I would rather support you than continue supporting packs that result in me downloading your mods anyway. I truly enjoy your regency gameplay and will support you in expanding that.

R
Rosa_A · February 14, 2026

Can I just say that I am so glad your life is hopefully taking a turn for the better, Jane? Glad that you are back and hopefully not dealing with so much craziness anymore right now? Big hugs. And yay for making the swords in the new pack compatible with your Blacksmith mod, one day. So glad to see you are planning that.

J
JaneSimsten · February 14, 2026

Not to derail things -- but I also had a thought about making RPG-style mechanics for weapons skills. Where your sim could have a "health" bar. You could specialize in different weapons that have different statistics. Potentially even combat magic if you play with spellcasters? It's a little silly in a sandbox game like the sims, but would that be of any interest?

H
Hera · February 14, 2026

That actually sounds like a whole lot of fun!

H
Habibi 🥰 · February 14, 2026

can the sword fighting have idfferent fighting styles due to different weapons? like katana vs a great sword

M
Maryam Al-Sabaghah · February 14, 2026

You can make sword fighting styles (like asian like Japanese and Chinese would be different from European styles, not to mention the many kinds of swords and their needing different ways of using them, and there's short swords, daggers, long swords, one handed, dual fighting, and many many more so you can make a mod to expand on the ea version).

A
Already Regretti · February 14, 2026

I trust your work so much more than EA's. 💚

T
Tatiana Crena · February 14, 2026

Nah. Lady maids/ladies in waitings would be nice though

N
NN · February 14, 2026

Yes! And making it BG compatible is excellent, and very community-friendly. Many people will not be updating their games, and/or buying the new pack, yet still desire swordfighting. Absolutely please create it, still! Love all of your work! Cheers :)

S
SweetySimon · February 14, 2026

I generally like it when mods are available for those who don't have the necessary packs. For example, I recently used Road To Fame and was very pleased that I didn't have to buy the entire Get Famous pack. There are definitely those who would use this mod. I certainly won't be buying the new pack for a long time, as it is and will remain too expensive for me.

D
Daisy1728 · February 14, 2026

I wish you could improve the sword fighting in Royalty and Legacy. Add more swords and life-or-death duels, for example. I would also be happy if you could make functional swords in your Blacksmithing Mod.

J
JaneSimsten · February 14, 2026

Either way I definitely plan to make the original blacksmithing swords functional and take the new pack swords and make them craftable! That's non-negotiable haha.

M
Mischa Hughes · February 14, 2026

I don't know when or if I will be able to get the new pack. And the swordfighting is one of my main reasons for wanting it at all. Having a basegame option for that sounds amazing. That said, I will understand if I'm in the minority on that.

S
Simminalittle · February 14, 2026

I dont think you should build a different skill but some how add on to the current one sims has introduced
