Dev Build - On A Roll
Hello everyone. I'm super excited to finally have rolling back in the game! Now when you turn into a blueberry you will be able to roll and bounce around. In addition, you can choose to transform into a rollable version of the round body when you grow into the round body's max weight class. Or you can skip straight to the rollable body with a new skip to blob button.
Also note that the interaction menu is now accessed by pressing Q instead of space bar, since I wanted to use space bar for jumping with the rollable body. There is also a transformation speed slider in the status effects menu so you can make the blueberry transformation slower or faster. I added a firmness slider in this menu too so you can tweak how soft or firm the round body is. Depending on your frame rate, you might need to adjust this to keep the body from going flat at lower FPS.
I'm mostly happy with how this turned out, but I wasn't able to make the feeding tube work with the rollable body yet. So for now, tube feeding is disabled for that body type. Hopefully I can figure out a way to make it work at some point.
Lastly, I added a hidden gumball to every map (except the Snackrooms scenario since that'd break progression). So you can transform into a blueberry just about anywhere.
There were a ton of things to set up for this new body type and I might have missed a small detail or two. So if you run into any bugs or strangeness with it, feel free to let me know. For the next update I plan to add new NPC's to make the maps feel less lonely. Until then I hope you enjoy!

i would like you to add breakable furniture and if you gain to much weight to crack walls or floors maybe?
I just joined thr Pateron recently, and I was kinda curios if in the future there's gonna be more customization options for your character? Love everything so far I can't understate that <3 just intrigued on the progress of this project :0
Yes I plan to do a big overhaul to the customization that will add a lot more options and hopefully make the menus much cleaner and easier to navigate. Not sure when yet.
When messing with customization and putting socks on, I was expecting the feet to actually change to look like they’re wearing socks instead of…looking painted over lol. Not upset at all tho, just thought it was strange at first Edit: a genuine complaint I have that just came to mind was that the free-camera mode isn’t always available in every location. Last note, in the snackrooms right next to that terrifying Ronald McDonald, I noticed a door high up. Does that have any interactivity or anything? It’s bugging me not being able to get in there lol
Yeah I plan to fix the toe socks thing at some point if I can figure out a way. The free cam can't be used in places like the snackrooms because it could easily get out of bounds and cause problems with areas of the map that haven't been loaded yet. There's nothing in the door above the weird Ronald. I was maybe going to do something with that when I made the first version of snackrooms, but I ran out of time.
Quick Question: When becoming a rollable size, why is my character flat as a pancake? Happens when I go all berry as well.
What kinda fps are you getting? Pancaking can happen at lower framerates. I havent found a fix for that yet.
Do you have plans to add any kind of gameplay in the future? Just rolling around is already kinda fun on its own but it'd be nice to have some other stuff to do. Also, at max size the hands and feet tend to clip inside the rollable body in a way that doesn't look intentional.
Yeah I want to add more goal driven stuff. I plan to add some NPCs that give you somethings to do. I also might make a game mode based around the rolling mechanics. Maybe an obstacle course sort of thing. And yeah i noticed the hands and feet clipping at larger sizes too. It should correct itself if you switch maps or swap to a different body and then back again. I want to fix this properly though.
Would it be possible to add sitting? I'd love to see my guy sitting on a chair getting stuffed. Wouldn't have to be on every chair just if there was a chair they could sit on.
Maybe. It might be tricky to make it look right at larger sizes but maybe the chair could just break when their butt gets too big to fanagle it into the right position.
Had an idea for a quality of life improvement: The save character slots do not indicate which slots have data saved in them. If you don't remember under which save file you save a character, you can accidentally overwrite it trying to save another.
True. I'll see if I can fix that.
Been playing around with the rolling for good while now, All I've got to say is GREAT JOB DUDE! Especially with all the issues and roadblocks you encounted during this features development, I'm so glad you were able to get it through into the game. Also happy to hear your adding NPCs to the game which will be interesting for sure! I do have a few questions regarding that NPCs along with a few suggestions to possibly add aswell in the next update: First, how do you plan to have the NPCs react against the players weight gain? It'd be a bit boring for them to just walk around like nothings going on. Will they run away in fear? or Gather around the player as they get to the blob sizes and watch in awe? Second, will there be options to choose to only have one gender of NPCs in the world i.e. have only female NPCs in the world or visa versa? Third is a request, Before the next update could you add sound effects to the clothes ripping over time and/or snapping as the player gets bigger. I understand at the moment adding more interactions with wardrobe malfunction in the game would be a pain in the ass i.e. having the clothes eventually rip off the player entirely. So for now maybe adding just sound effects atm to clothes would be good thing to tide that over until you have more time to focus on the clothing in more detail. Regardless I hope you're happy with your work man, it's really impressive how you finally implimented this feature in the game. Wishing you the best when it come to further development with this
Glad to hear it! I'm still figuring out what I'm capable of doing with the NPCs, but I do want them to react to your weight in a few different ways like behavior, dialogue etc. Depending on how complex it gets, it might be one of those things where I develop a basic version of it and add more features over time. I might also be able to add a menu where you can choose if NPCs spawn in the map and what genders are allowed to spawn. Clothes ripping sound effects might be simple enough for me to add in the next update as well.
Hi! Another fantastic update thank you for your hard work! I was wondering is there any way to change the default character? I always use the same setup so I was just wondering if I could change the default rather than going into load a slot each time?
Not currently, but I'll see if I can find a way to reload the last character slot that was used on start up.
With NPCs possibly being added, will that come with more character customization too?
Probably not. Adding NPCs will be a big can of worms on it's own, but I will continue to add more to the character customizer over time in future updates.
Really loved the update the rolling really adds a bunch to the game well done! I wanted to ask since you stated the next update will have npcs, I was wondering what you were planning on doing with them. Are they gonna be able to gain weight or just be a bit more static at this time or can the player interact with them to get food or something? Thanks again for the amazing update and keep up the good work.
I have a lot of ideas but we'll see how much of it I can implement for the next update. I'm thinking some dialogue that reacts to your weight and they could probably gain weight to some extent too. Maybe some kind of little quest system as well where you can do something for them to get special food. Maybe you can flatten them by rolling over them with the round blob too.
I'd deadass put $100 for this game to have vore mechanics
Vore is not really my thing so its kinda low priority, but I might be able to add a basic vore mechanic once more NPC's are in the game
For some reason, the rollable version is flat, like a deflated balloon. Its kinda funny actually. 🤣
If you are running at a low framerate that can happen. You can try increasing firmness in the status effects menu to compensate, but if your fps it too low that won't help much.
This looks awesome! Great to see rolling back in the project. I'd love to try it out but for unknown reasons, every time I load up a map, my laptop just shuts down. Guess my laptop isn't strong enough for this update, sadly
Dang, sorry to hear that. I hope you can figure out a way to play it
been loving these updates but something ive been wondering is there a specific file to bring over my previous saves files
You can transfer saves, but it's a little cumbersome. You can find the save files in this path - C:/Users/YourUserName/AppData/LocalLow/blobygon You will find folders for each build in there. Find the folder for the build that has your saved characters in it and copy all the folders inside (1 through 10) Then paste them into the newest build's folder to replace them. Hopefully I figure out a simpler way eventually.
Nice, keep up the good work! ^^
a transformation speed slider! legend. actual legend and those NPCs... are they gonna be interactible?
Yes, I want some kind of interactivity with them.
If I could like this more than once I'd like it so fwicking much, let's good!
Delightful! Now we just need a cartoonish popping animation 🤤
this is a fun update, never thought i'd enjoy allot of the rolling and it was awesome to see the slider for the blueberry transformation too!
We are truly witnessing peak being created right Infront of our eyes. It was very interesting watching you tackle the problem of trying to even get the programming right for the rolling with the soft body engine. You feel like a large "weight" is off you shoulders lol. The Squash, The Squish, and the speed in which you roll OMG :))) it was truly fun to play around with the physics of each map. If I were to voice a request it would only have one more, if you can find to add at some point would be to have a map where you can truly "Ball Out." and just roll around on some skatepark or marble-track environment :)
Yeah I want to build an obstacle course or minigame with the rolling body at some point. It'd be fun to roll around with more of a purpose.
This update doesn't interest me at all, but it's clear that you put all your heart and all your energy into it, it's great work! Sorry to insist, I don't want to be heavy, would it be possible to add elements in the snackroom, it's really the game mode that I mainly use. The slightest change in a detail, corridor or other, would make me very happy! Anyway, thanks for everything and congratulations on this success :)
I plan to keep adding more to the Snackrooms as I continue development, but I'm not sure when I'll get to that again.
Awesome!
You are the best developer ever oh my gawd!
That's was peak btw can you add moans and other similar sounds in some future updates? if you still have contact with voice actors of course And... can this plugin work with non-blob phases? cause in this way you can try to add Rub tool, i think it'll fit perfectly
I could probably add sounds like that at some point. I can't use the softbody plugin on the non-blob phases because of technical limitations, but a rub interaction would be nice to have in some form. I might be able to figure out a way to do that.
Oh lawd' she's a rolling! 🤣
Would like to have blueberry candy on the other maps 🥺
You can find a secret, slightly hidden blueberry gumball on each map now
