Recent One Piece - Sanji Spoilers

I actually think posts like this every once in a while are really helpful. Even when you already know you should be careful about spoilers and hints, it’s easy to forget or say something without realizing it. I’ve gotten better about it partly because I’ve seen reminders like this before, so even if you feel like you have to make the same kind of post every few months, I think reminders like this really do help. They’re a good reminder for people like me to stop and think, “Yeah, I should keep being mindful of that.”

Not only anime, but any form of entertainment in general. People believe they are savants and infallible, yet they most likely watched people react before watching it themselves, so they caught every detail because it was already told to them. Part of the journey is getting things correct and, even more importantly, wrong. It's a journey similar to life; do not let the negative people affect you guys. No explanations are needed until an episode drops that gives you a revelation; then we can all laugh together. Good vibes and well wishes.

Away for a week and I come back to this lol If theres one thing I dislike about the One Piece community...or rather some sub-communities within, its things like these and trying to force things on other people who may have an opposing opinion or simply watch differently from they do. These are the same people who will throw a fit if you watch a single episode not Japanese dubbed.

Unfortunately, no real way to get around this apart from just not engaging with the comments anymore. Even with the "Nothing Happens" in thriller park, ppl telling u to not watch openings, ppl saying "Pay attention or remember someone said X..." It's all so annoying. Let them watch it just like we did without any guidance on how to watch. We all watched the openings and paid attention to whatever we wanted to.

Ehhh i was one of em smh… I made a comment about their names and stuff cuz I thought it was a cool element to Oda and his writing and someone replied to me that they would see it later… I deleted my comment right away. My bad, I watch a lot of reactors and forgot where you were rly in relation to what was already/yet to be revealed.

You (Ron) often have opinions on stuff (especially when in comes to self embeterment and respect) and you vocalize it. Which I personally like. But offcourse , as opinions do, you can irritate some people. That is also fine. But its just weird to come at you hatin like this... Like it would be better if you just stay silent and watch the episode blank faced :D

I completely agree with every single word in this post; to have something as huge as One Piece spoiled by community members due to lack of patience is really disheartening. Idk what the moderator presence is like here, but there definitely should be a heavier focus/effort on filtering out comments that flat out spoil content. That’s like, one of the main duties as a mod from my limited understanding of Patreon moderation. Just imagine if someone in the comment section said Akainu kills Ace before even getting Ace off the scaffold. Do you not want reactors to have the same experience as you that made the moments/show as a whole so memorable? Comment spoilers…mods…fans and viewers alike…please do better for the sake of this channel.

i'm caught up and still don't fully understand everything, sadly some people eat and sleep anime so they take shit too serious and feel the need to over comment instead of just watching and shake head saying "damn these guys got no idea what's coming".

I 100% get the excitement behind things, but I also agree that people get too excited and try to point out everything. There's foreshadowing that happens at times, but I think these are the kinds of things that people can only pick up on a second watch after the dots have already been connected. I've only watched the series through once, so this is my second time watching it and I'm only now connecting some of those dots. But it hasn't lessened my enjoyment at all. I'm not the most observant when watching things, so I'd definitely get yelled at if I were a reactor. 😆

Yeah the constant spoiling and spoon-feeding in the comments is really a pest. I do not understand it why so many people feel the need to do this all the time, when One Piece is an Anime where things get explained multiple times, even with flashbacks.

I just expressed my frustration. You seemed very distracted in that episode and I think I have a right to criticise. Doesn't mean I'm hating. Missing some key details (not even acknowledging them because you're too busy joking around) and then giving some strong takes on Fatherhood just felt a bit poor taste for me. Sorry for the loud minority or few rotten apples that get out of hand. As welcoming as all communities are, it is inevitable to have people with bad intentions or who are not as mature blend in with the rest. We have a lot of mangareaders that get genuinely upset and pissed whenever Oda needs or decides to take breaks (often times back to back ones). That is just the issue with some people these days, inconsiderate and don't know how to stay in their own lane. Sorry, Michelle and Ron.

said this to one of the commenters the other day, “let the story tell them” It doesn’t matter if the story shows or introduces something/someone, if their significance to the plot hasn’t been specified, sharing that is a spoiler. There are a lot of beats Oda taps out and he ties them together narratively that make us go ohhh after the fact, like a type of misdirection in magic. And it really sucks to have the magic exposed, especially to first time watchers. “He has a third card in his pocket” “that’s a double sided coin” like shut up, stop killing the magic for me and them.

Even in the Naruto reactions, I remember people blatantly spoiling things and just wouldn't back down because oh it was obvious. Obvious to us who has already seen the show. Not to them. If they miss something we point it out after the fact, not spoil them. You're much too nice. You need mods that will delete comments.

This is probably something you already know, but I feel the need to say this: I consider myself a massive one piece fan, but I would never consider spoiling anything for you guys, and I would never get upset at you guys for reading into the story differently than expected, so don't think that the majority of the One Piece fan base is like this. It's the small minority. I just believe that the people that do that, are so passionate about One Piece, and so invested in your reaction, that they actually get emotional about it, and therefore have this reaction. It is a bit much, but I can understand it. It comes from a place of passion at the end of the day, not a place of hate.

I think these "spoiler/how could you miss this?"-commenters keep forgetting that Michelle and Ron are casual watchers of anime. They're reactors on a schedule. I'm guessing that the commenters are hardcore anime watchers that have seen all the current episodes of onepiece at least 2-3 times. Also, when we watch onepiece we can do it in the comfort of our own space without cameras pointed in our faces, and without having to think about "transforming" the video by adding commentary/jokes etc. Us (non-reactors) can simply watch the episode in the comfort of our space and even rewind as many times as we want. We can fully focus on what we're watching without the distraction of being a reactor. I'm guessing that its a completely different experience.

Unfortunately, this happens a lot, especially with a huge series like One Piece. Many people don’t remember what their first experience was actually like, and sometimes those memories are so old that they get mixed together with all the information the person knows now. They end up convincing themselves that they noticed something back then when they actually didn’t. Memory can play tricks on you, especially after a long time. Saying you disagree is fine. Saying, “I’ll explain later why I disagree,” is also fine. But some of these things are literally revealed just a few episodes later, with full explanations... I think it’s completely possible to agree or disagree without revealing future information :(

The joy of watching reactions is seeing another persons reaction to the same moment you experienced for the first time. But if you spoil what happens or the reason that moment is special because of what happens in a future episode, it takes all the fun that the reactor would have and that same feeling you as the viewer felt when you watched it for the first time. Just let them enjoy something at their own pace and share in that enjoyment the same way you got to enjoy it.
