It's funny how you're wondering if Oda has introduced other species and you list Fishmen, when you had the Tontattas and a giant in this arc 😂 there have definitely been other species but they're more subtle. It's really easy to see random stuff in One Piece and just accept it as a gag or some random shit Oda does, but he rarely does anything for no reason. This is one of the best writing tricks of the story. The humour and goofy stuff gives you a false sense of security, so you don't notice stuff that is right in your face sometimes. And it's not just you guys. It's a normal thing for this to happen
