I think Monster would be a really good show for you If you love dark psychology.
In any anime or tv show, the story itself should guide you through your journey. Confusion or not, even Okarin is confused so you are supposed to be as confused as he is. The storytelling's job is to guide you through the story and if it doesn't make sense in the end then its the storytelling's fault. And that's okay.
