Page 479
This was a difficult page to pull off, and it fell slightly short of how I envisioned it, but I think it still came out great.

She saw humans, I'm sure if it.
Let’s make sure that humans are there
And now the real horror.
Yeah it is
My god, all this time, it sounded like going abroad was being thrown on an ash heap by silver sage. You go there and live with and get tainted with all the rest. Solidarity in taint. But that's not it at all is it? Abroad doesn't want creatures from silver sage even more than creatures from silver sage want to go there because abroad is actually great isn't it and they don't want it getting ruined. Kira was never in abroad at all she was in a refugee camp. A quarantine like ellis island. It's why they scanned her. Its why they questioned her parents. No one in Abroad is tainted. Its the rest of silver sage that's tainted.
Tainted might not be the right word, but might once been a euphemism that meaning has been lost to time; remember Timmothy's story about how creatures were able to liberate themselves? From whom? Similar to how Follybrook trades with Abroad; no direct contact but through intermediaries. The way things currently stands both sides don't want to interact. Those that do dare to cross (either by force or voluntarily) are treated harshly. Someone wants to change that, and Tamberlane is the key. Somehow.
I'm not sure I want to know what she saw. I can only imagine how a little kit would be feeling. Not to mention the sorrow and horror of a mom losing her child... twice.
