I really like how they leave some things to mystery, like the swamp. Is it mystical or is it not? and how so? Same with the fortune teller episode. It seemed like aunt Wu really could predict some things but it's up for interpretation

They were water benders, and specifically said it wasn't them. Just one of the supernatural occurrences of the Avatar world due to the connection between physical and spirit worlds.
