EmuDeck 2.2.4 RC & Android Early Access
Hello! new release, new features, this is the RC for the next public release, so things should be working pretty good. Here comes the usual list of changes:
SteamOS
- New Emulators: Sega Model 2, Sega Model 3.
- Improved uninstaller
- Updated Dolphin controls to avoid the issue where they could be irresponsive after waking up from sleep.
- Some small bug fixes like the sudo window appearing on install.
Windows
- Android: Setup your Android device with your favourite emulators.
Some small bug fixes.
How does it work?
- First you need to put your device into developer mode and activate USB debugging. ( https://www.youtube-nocookie.com/embed/p7DDuq56suU )
- Plug the device into your PC, accept all prompts both in the device and in the PC so they can talk to each other.
- Open EmuDeck, go to the new Android section at the top, select where you want your roms to be stored and that's it. Future versions will allow to customize the installation, right now is like Easy mode on good old EmuDeck.
Things to have in mind
- This is a very rough version, so like always...expect bugs
- RetroArch & Pegasus are the only apps in this first release.
- EmuDeck for Android will replace your current RetroArch installation and change some settings.
- You'll need to manually deactivate overlays for 4:3 Devices.
- If your device is not detected by EmuDeck but it is by Windows, restart EmuDeck and try again.
- This has been tested on a Samsung Galaxy A70, Retroid Pocket 2S, Retroid Pocket 3+ and Odin Pro.

wow, that was a loooong time ago. Since Termux was never updated to use the new local storage scope that Android 10+ has that just died. Now EmuDeck is its own APK
Attempting to do this with 2023 google tablet with a G2 tensor chip.
Anyone else having problems trying to launch PS2 games thru Nethersx2? My issue is, if i try to launch any PS2 rom from the emudeck all i get is an attempt to boot it up and a perma black screen, but if i use Nethersx2 as a standalone and boot roms from it then they will launch without a problem. I´m referring to Android btw.
I need help. Emudeck doesn’t see my Retroid pocket 3 plus when connected to my windows 11 computer. I turned on developer mode on the device and is shows up on windows as the Retroid pocket 3 but won’t show up as a storage device in the application. USB debug mode is turned on as well. Please help.

I really want to use the android version but for the life of me I cant figure out how to put it on my retroid pocket or my phone. Any advise would be apricated .I downloaded the windows version but I am not seeing any option to download the android version.
I'm having a problem with cloudsaving. This afternoon i played without having internet. When i got back home and connected to the internet. I started emulationstation and it downloaded my old saves from the cloud instead of uploading the new one first! So i lost my whole afternoon session. On windows btw
After updating I could not update Cemu (Proton). It only allowed me to install Cemu native. Which is fine since it uses the same saves and files in addition to running slightly better, I just don't have the option to manage the old emulator. Also Steam Rom manager stopped working because my SD card is not named mmcblk0p1. Valve named it SD512 from the start. So I had to switch to classic mode and adjust each directory manually.
I forgot to mention on the release notes that we are finally moving to Native! The mmcb.. name should work, Valve creates a symlink to your SD Card with that name, but still EmuDeck should have picked up the proper name, resetting SRM settings should have fixed this
Hi, i've got some issues with Steam Rom Manager here on Steamdeck since the last Update: the path for atari2600 Proton seems to be wrong (Error when Parsing) and cemu native has no config at all. That means in Emu is nothing is configured (controls,fullscreen,etc). Cemu Proton works but there is no Key configured to Swap screens in Steam. I have reinstalled emudeck from scratch. (Only works when i First Install emudeck and After this Emudeck Early Access. Otherwise there will be no shortcut for Emudeck on Desktop and the Installation starts all over again. Best Regards

for android. I enabled developer, and usb debugging, but my android phone isn't prompting me when I plug it in. This is a Windows install, can try linux tomorrow.

Hi, I came for the same issue regarding Model 2/3. On windows, I have the option of install both emulators, but both return a "there was an issue trying to install..." and the emulator does not install. On the Steam Deck, only Model3 emulator install; Model 2 fails with the same error that on windows.
They are only available for SteamOS right now. And there was a proton update that broke Model 2 the same day I did the release :( .... I'm looking into it
SEGA Model 2 and 3 do appear in EMU windows but both aren't working for me. I have an ERROR message.
