Dev Log #9 - Chapter 4
Hey, everyone! š
Iāve been EXTREMELY busy these past few weeks playtesting the game, writing Chapter 4 scenes, posing Decemberās special renders set, and rendering the reworked animations. I even forgot to post this dev log yesterday!
Either way, things are moving forward with no slowdown in sight.
Writing has taken up most of my time since the PC is fully occupied rendering animations. However, Iāve been posing Chapter 4 scenes in between, as I usually do.
One thing Iāve realized, not only in the past chapters but also in the upcoming one, is that some parts have become way too sad, which isnāt the direction I want for the entire game. So, Iāve toned things down a bit. The major emotional plot points remain untouchedālike Michelle and Oliviaās routes, for exampleābut Iāve made some of the less crucial emotional moments more wholesome rather than sad. For instance, enjoying a nice long pier walk with Julia, looking at old photos with Keyla, or going out moped riding with Kim.
Iām also working on a few things I canāt get into much details yet, as they may not work out at all. However, Iāve been in talks with some artists about music, as well as coding/UX improvements. Even if no one else takes on the coding, I can handle it myself in due time, though I canāt sing. š¤£š¤£
Two weeks(ish) left in the month, gotta keep the momentum going!
Have a great weekend and happy holidays to everyone! ā„

Plus, the clothes suits the hairstyle really wellš
I rather enjoy the the high emotional impact moments in AVNs in general. That said, I completely agree that you don't want to have too many or they will lose their value and change the general mood of the game. Adding more fun wholesomeness is right on the money though! šš
Exactly! As I was writing some of the girls' hangout scenes, I realized that four of them had the girl crying. While the emotional side can still be part of the plot, it felt unnecessary in those moments. So, I lightened the mood, and now they feel much more pleasant. Of course, there are still plenty of emotional and sad parts, but now they happen at the right moments and in the right places, rather than being like, everywhere. š¤£š¤£
