Ok, in-laws gone?
Good! I'm very lucky to have awesome in-laws who are super supportive of my creativity and career... but conversations about making out with strangers in a photo booth (even when it's with my husband's support) are just some conversations I'd rather like not to have, haha!
Today's comic comes from a really vulnerable place where I really have been struggling with feelings of shame and mourning over my body and how its changed in the last handful of years. Or, as the official OJST copy goes:
Middle-aged and post-menopausal, Erika Moen has thoroughly lost her libido. So what the heck is she doing at a KISSING PARTY? Can (and should) she actually ask a hot girl to makeout with her??? Pucker up for her thrilling lip-lockin' adventure!

Aw! What a great story! You're braver than I think I would be. Or I'd want to kiss so many people. But probably braver. Also a good point about it just being... that. No expectations - or worries - about where to go from there, whether you ever wanted to see them again. You can just enjoy it for its own sake! Pleasure can be found in so many places and in so many ways that aren't "those" usuals, and still be intense. Keep surprising yourself!

This is so well done and really touching in many ways - how Matt supports you, the kissing booth set-up (I want to go there now!), the interaction with the girl, your description of the kiss... As a fellow menopausolitan wondering about her libido, this really resonated!
