COMIC: Quality Assurance
So I did cut one of my plums in half yesterday and there was a full-on wriggling worm guy in there. It was fine! I just ate the rest of the plum that he wasn't in!!! Which, to be fair, was most of it!!!!
My laissez-faire standards apply equally to all the produce of my garden, not just the plums. Here, for instance, are some raspberries I brought to share at Helioscope back when they were in season last month:
Raspberry season is over (in my backyard, at least), so now, of course, it is plum season!
We have two plum trees that are on sliiiightly different schedules. The left tree's fruit have been ripe and dropping all last week, with only a few super high-up guys left.
The right tree, however, is taking its sweet time! It's looooaded with plums that still aren't quuuuuuite ripe yet. But soon! Soon. Sooooon.

I have apple and peach trees. I was so excited because there were so many on the way and then the squirrels came. They took a bite and then threw them on ground! But then I put a tall perch in the middle of my yard… for FREYA, a beautiful red-tailed hawk that avenged my ravaged fruit trees. My point is to make friends with local raptors.
!!! That is rad as hell.
I admire your garden! I am in a place where the Angry Day Ball makes it more than I can handle, so I can only enjoy such a thing vicariously. So thank you!
You’re welcome! 🌱❤️
This made me laugh - I'm the same with my garden. Thanks
Every year is a race between me and the squirrels to harvest the pecans from the tree in the front yard. So far it's the squirrels beating me every year. They cheat because they can eat the unripe nuts without getting sick.
Right??? Squirrels are such bastards! They'll pull off a whole fruit or chunk of a vegetable, take one bite, and then THROW IT ON THE GROUND AND RUN AWAY. Like, at least eat ALL of it, please?!
My garden fanatic wife would have shielded her indoor squeamish husband from this. For which I am very grateful.
😂
The difference between "being careful with hard earned money on a tight budget" and "look at this colourful fruit I grew in my backyard. It's mine and I shall eat it! Nom!"
hahahah
Bonus Protein *S*
Are you KIDDING ME with those yields?!?! AAAHH DELICIOUSSSS (My plum tree died three years ago and I got zero raspberries this year, can you tell??)
So much deliciousness!
Plums! Yum!
