If you were worried that my sudden obsession with the mid-2010s fantasy show The Magicians would be short-lived, fear not! For I am still most definitely on my bullshit about this show. Look what my husband and Mother-in-Law very indulgently got me for Christmas!
I don't just painstakingly recreate props from the show out of paper, I also draw good old fashioned fanart!

Alice as a (mortal) character annoys me but I love to draw her because good lord have you seen her? Life's complicated!
Ok, so I like both Penny and Kady individually but I genuinely do not get their appeal to each other? Like, this relationship makes no sense to me. Not in a tragic "They're bad for each other!" way, but a ".......wait. Them?" way. Oh well, we've all been in lust in our 20s once, I guess!
Love me some Dean Fogg. Whatever Brakebills is paying him, it's not enough.
Julia. Hm. Like... I dig the rejected-from-the-Ivy-Leagues-so-she-went-the-Hedgewitch route storyline, but she just......... doesn't feel like a part of the group? Like, I do not buy for an instant that she and Queintin Quintin Quentin were childhood besties?? They have 0 chemistry together, right???? Not a knock on the actors! Because again, individually, I dig them, but I just don't sense any shared past connection between these characters. Julia! Just go do Hedgewitch shit! Forget about these Brakebills snobs.
The only thing wrong with Quintin Queintin Quentin is that his actor is too Hollywood handsome. He needed to be played by a regular nerd of average attractiveness.

Can I be real with you guys? There is this big job I am telling myself I'm going to apply for but I keep psyching myself out because they want this whole pitch (It's not for any of my other projects that I've shared here, it's something totally different that I would just be a hired gun on) and uhhhhggggggg I don't know why I keep avoiding assembling my samples to send them?? It would pay really well!! The deadline is coming right up!! Oh my god, what is my problem? Just do it, me!

Maybe I haven't been paying attention, have you already mentioned whether you've read the Magicians books? I read all of them and enjoyed them a lot, but I fell right off the show when Penny blurted out "magic comes from PAIN" which is basically the thesis of the entire series.
The process of applying is a very important experience in and of itself, right? Right? (I always have to remind myself of this)
My parter always goes on dates with absolutely everyone who asks them, even if they aren't particularly interested. This is because they are building the skill of dating So i agree with this! After all, dating is really just applying for jobs but WAY more awkward because sex and whatnot is at stake
Hard things like job applications can be hard to psych yourself up for. There's a lot of unknowns. But the great thing about (what sounds like) contract work is if you don't like it, it'll be over generally in a defined time period so extricating yourself can be comparatively easy. If you do like it, well it's just a win win then. Applying for jobs is a little bit like getting ready for a performance. Maybe do some of the things you'd do to prep for actual performing? Might help get in the right headspace. Good luck, whatever you choose. :)
