Drama Update...
I concluded an hour long chat with a YouTube representative not too long ago - which was hard work to be sure.
And, despite being repeatedly told to just wait it out and thus risk the deletion of the video and a copyright strike (which could then lead to more videos being taken down) I eventually made some headway... and got them to do some digging (for which I am extremely grateful - even though it meant a lot of waiting around, took a lot of back and forth, and going over the same ground over and over).
But luckily, earlier today, someone sent me a video that outlined some of the terminology to use, what to quote/emphasize, etc. - so I was able to put that to good use to help get my point across (as the music company or their representatives are clearly in the wrong for issuing a copyright claim on music they don't have any legal rights to).
And wouldn't you know it - I finish the chat and 'ping' the video is released and the 'potential' abuse of the content ID system is being refereed to their internal team.
So... I'd call that a win 🙂 (and a surprisingly fast change of heart by the claimant - lol).

Thank heavens for that! What a PITA to have to deal with, though.
Indeed!
