Bam bashes Vargas at bantam / UFC Freedom 250
First, a look at Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez's good, bad and ugly against Antonio Vargas as the undefeated boy wonder wins a title in a third weight class, but mainly with how it pertains to the mooted super fight with fellow pound-for-pounder Naoya Inoue.
The bulk of the episode then is dedicated to UFC Freedom 250, which unbelievably DELIVERED in ways I didn't expect it to. One of the greatest MMA bouts I've ever seen, and numerous others that had real stakes with outcomes that reverberated through their respective divisions. I...kinda' loved this card! But it's also well worth mentioning why it was a jingoistic shambles too.

Mr McLaughlin, this is a truly unrelated question (great pod as always, any time I get to hear you talk about bam, im in) but who do you think has the all time worst chin out of elite boxers. I think popular opinion would say Amir Kahn but there’s no way he’s the only guy who’s been in elite fight after elite fight who has a notably bad chin. Just wondering if anyone jumps to mind
Given that both of Topuria’s eye sockets were broken, makes you wonder what traditional boxing would be like with smaller gloves. I always wondered what guys with heavy hands and good jabs (like GGG) could do to the eyes and noses of guys with iron chins (like Canelo).
I would love if we could hop over to an alternate universe of boxing where it’s always been in 4 oz gloves just to see what defense looks like. Shelling up and putting the earmuffs on would only take you so far, and even a really educated high guard would have much less play
