A
Addison · July 5, 2024

Not seeing this mentioned anywhere, but I have run into where vanilla eye colors are linked to skin tones instead. Using the 21-9 version of the mod. Installed and managed by Mod Organizer 2. Seems like it might be simply an address error.

C
Chronicler Talamae Laeris · July 4, 2024

I am sure you're aware, but Starfield had another micro-patch that broke everything again. But in the off chance that you don't know, another patch made CharGenMenu stop woking on 07/02/2024.

K

The original mod had a 21-9 version to support the 21:9 aspect ratio. It depends on what display you are playing Fallout 4 on.

B
Basura Inefable · June 7, 2024

I get this: a mod you have installed has a dll plugin that does not load correctly. if a new version of fallout has just been released, the plugin needs to be updated, please check the mod's website to update it. this is not a problem with F4SE. f4ee.dll: disabled, incompatible with the current version of the game. continued loading may result in loss of saved data or other unwanted behavior. exit game?

F
FBII Bully Hunter_15 · June 5, 2024

How do I make this work with NMM?

B
Balle Mand · June 6, 2024

I asume you mean Vortex. If so, when you are in the mod tab in vortex down at the buttom theere is a bar called "drop file(s)" you just drag and drop the zip file in there and you should be good to go;)

M
Marc Hutsebaut · June 5, 2024

To get at least the presets working, I had to temporarily disable my Super Ultra Wide 32:9 mod (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/56363). I use MO2. No sliders or anything like that show up either. Edit: sliders DO work. Still, I think more users might potentially stumble across the ultrawide problem, so I'll leave disabling your ultrawide mod here as a 'quickfix'.

H
Harry Broaddus · June 5, 2024

Update: Found out the overlay for tattoos blocker; texture mod conflict. lesson learned. Hope I also fixed the dark/black face issue.

H
Harry Broaddus · June 4, 2024

Thought I had a solution to no tattoo overlays showing; lasted only about 9 hours of playtime. It is SOMETHING on my end as yesterday's testing proved. I can only figure that saves get corrupted. As the last hour or so was trying get rid of a black faced settler NPC. No the vanilla male PC in CC has a darker (but not black) face & light colored back skin plus the menu(s) for tats and such are gone.

Well, on further investigation overlays & sliders are not working BUT found out SOMETHING is suppressing CBBE/Bodyslide and "extras". Currently testing to see wtf is doing that will report back wth is when I find out. Edit: Atomic Beauty definitely interferes. Also learned that female has overlays and male doesn't (so far). Still no "vanilla" sliders found. Well, established a new profile and the overlays for CC are no longer blocked.

J

Hey Reith, I followed your directions but the items needed to customize my character are still grayed out. I'm starting a new save on survival mode and I'm not sure where I went wrong. I installed the esp and main ba2 through vortex and I have the current f4se version. Seems like alot of people are experiencing this too. o:

R
Reith Goldblaze · June 2, 2024

HEY I found a solution to the greyed out items issue, which i discovered purely by accident XD Requirements: -Looks menu on the latest version (V 1-0-7-1.7z) Download link: https://www.patreon.com/posts/looksmenu-v1-7-0-104981060. Tip, dont download the one that says: LooksMenu v1-7-0-1 21-9.7z, because its meant for wide monitors -F4SE on the latest version (0.7.2) Download link: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/42147?tab=files You MUST use the Vortex mod manager since thats how i discovered the solution Step 1: Install those two updates using the Vortex mod manager Step 2: Dont launch the game from steam or desktop icon, you MUST lunch the game from the Vortex mod manager. To do so, here are the steps: Open Vortex ---> Go to the Dashboard section on the upper left corner ---> Scroll down to the "Tools" Section in which you will possible find 4 options "FO4Edit" "Wrye Bash" "BodySlide" (In case you have it installed) and "Fallout 4 Script Extender". Now you click on the Fallout 4 Script Extender which basically launches the game. Once the in the game, you load your usual save game, and now you type on the console SLM 14 This will bring the looks menu for you to customize your whole apperance, and you will see the presets are back, also go to the "Body section" and you will have the rest enabled back. I hope this solves this issue for most of you that have the grayed out precepts and advanced and overlays. Ill be posting this solution where its needed nwn

I'm on game version 1.10.984.0.1, F4SE version 0.7.2, and the version of Looksmenu that's linked in this post. Everything but presets is working totally fine, but that option is greyed out despite being on the right version for everything. Any help in the comments? Hugely appreciate Expired for working on this, I just figured coming here to ask for help was probably my best bet!

Is not working with V1.10.980. Is there a way to make it work with this version? For some reason I can't find a way to update to V1.10.984.

m
mildseven1530 TTS · May 30, 2024

Because Fallout4 V1.10.980 can only use f4se 0.0.7.1 ,V1.10.980+ or V1.10.984 can use f4se 0.0.7.2.............

M
Maggz · May 29, 2024

@mildseven1530 TTS, why are you not running latest game version with latest f4se, He is not fixing this for the older Next gen version. Update ALL of your game and mods before trying to use this. Niether version was designed to work with your version.

H
Holger Kleiner · May 29, 2024

Awesome. My presets are back :)

m
mildseven1530 TTS · May 29, 2024

Can you tell me which version is applicable? My game version 1.10.980 f4se is 0.0.7.1 looksmenu is 1-7-0 or 1-7-0-1 all cant use presets, this option is grayed out.

J
Jaeron · May 29, 2024

F4SE should be 7.2

D
David Tompkins · May 29, 2024

A guess: Race Customizer seems to hide the hair colors from Looks Menu. They are still accessible when loading a preset. If you don't need it and have it, try disabling Race Customer.

J
John Adams · May 28, 2024

So a few tips for those who are wondering. #1. The file differences are simply "aspect ratio". You do NOT need to download both files. If you are running an (Ultra-Wide) monitor that is normal height and double width, you probably need the 21:9 file. Otherwise, everyone else should just use the first file. #2. If you are a Vortex™ user and only typically obtain mods from the Nexus, you may be unfamiliar with how to load an external mod. I usually suggest end-users create a folder somewhere in the root of their C:\ drive or where ever they have Vortex installed. You can name it however you like it won't affect the end result but to keep it easy to locate and know what it is I use Fo4_EXTMODS . 2.A: Once you download the file to the folder you created, go ahead and load up Vortex™ and then click on the "MODS" tab to open the mod management panel. In the upper left of the UI menu within that tab you will see the button {+} Install from File. Click that and when the window opens, navigate to the folder you created and select the external mod you wish to install. In this case it would be the relevant LooksMenu mod. Once you choose it, Vortex™ will begin loading, copying and installing the mod for you. It should automatically enable it provided there are no file conflicts you need to handle. 2.B: After it is installed, you will likely notice an orange (or which ever theme you picked) triangle with an exclamation mark in it under version. This is only because Vortex™ doesn't know where the mod is from or how to check for an update. You don't actually need to do anything, but if you like to keep things clean and organized, you can right click and at the bottom of the context menu choose "Fix Missing Source". When the error looking screen pops up, click on reset source. This will remove the error indicator and set the menu to the category Misc. 2.C: Finally, if you want to maintain continuity and keep this organized with your other mods using the Vortex™ interface, double click the line it appears on and when the right side fly-in menu appears. Type in the version number, and then for source use website. Finally, this mod is classified in Vortex™ as USER INTERFACE so if you wish to follow that convention you can change the category from this menu as well. That should be all you need to get this and other mods that are not directly served through Nexus. Keep in mind when you "uninstall" a mod you manually installed it will automatically be deleted from the Vortex™ interface but not removed from the folder you originally downloaded it to. So if you need to reinstall later you can still follow this process again to reinstall. Good luck, happy gaming, and for the love of all that is holy, thank you Expired for all the hard work you do to make so many games more enjoyable!
