287 - Done With The Endings.
Hello, cherished bros, how is it going? Another Monday -- another Monday Post, you now the deal. Let's do this.
This is big. I am finally done with fucking endings. This means that the current build can be played from start to finish. Yes, the economy is not balanced at all, many events and variables still need adjusting, some side content is still missing, but if somethin goes wrong (this is only a hypothetical) I can always just release the game as is and you still will be to experiences the main part of it. Honestly being done with this is a huge weight off my shoulders. Don't get too excited though, right now it is time to go extra mile and work on what makes a good game into a great game: good side content.
To avoid the confusion I won't go too much into explanations but just to sum it all up here is a brief list of what I will be working on next:
- Garden/backyard development. (Mechanics and events).
- Fruitstand ownership. (Mechanics and events).
- City exploration events.
- Game intro event.
- Game's secret true ending (the cake).
- After wedding events with the wives.
Money. As of right now the only way to make money in the game is to work as a night guard (thankfully that section has been written and imported into the game long time ago). You also get paid for you advisory services to the princess, but your salary is not that high. Naturally there will be many different aspects of the game that will require gold, from home development to paying to the whores and weddings. Therefor I want to make sure that many ways to make money exist in the game-world.
A question. Here is the thing, in Princess Trainer you were making money through Jasmine. Some people had mixed feelings about that. Personally I agree with that notion to a certain extent, it is much more satisfying to be able to make the money yourself, that is why there will be so many jobs available for Genie in Queen Trainer.
Actual question. That being said, after you marry a whore she movies in with you and quits her job. Would you be interested in an option to allowing you ex-whore wife to continue to work in the brothel. Naturally that would generate extra money for you. Coding in this stuff would take extra time, but I can not decide if it is needed or not. So, this is your question: would you be interested in such an option or not?
The games. Those of you who played KotOR1, do you remember this side quest, where you play a detective in a murder case on Manaan? Good lord, this was such a long quest, so much talking and so much fun! Old guy with a young wife, has an even younger Sith girl lover. The whole thing is so well written. Do I convict him? Do I try to clear his name? I changed my mind several times during this whole storyline. Absolutely fantastic writing. I shall take notes XD

For the old guy on Manaan, the easiest way to decide is if you want to support the Republic or the Sith. I've done both, but I really don't remember the outcomes and I don't really want to fish out my old Xbox to load the game up and see.
Been so long since I played KOTOR that I don't remember a lot of details but it was such a great game.
I suppose having the option to keep them in the brothel couldn't hurt anything, but it isn't an option I'll be using, so I'm not personally invested in it.
I'd allow them to keep working in the brothel.

Having a wife work in the brothel is not something I would use as an income source while playing the game, so if it saves development time I would vote to leave that option out.

Wow, what an update! 🤩 Congratulations on this milestone, even if there's still a lot to do (I'm also thinking of the achievements and the music?), it must be a big weight off your shoulders, as you say. The end isn't far off, although I suspect that all these details can be time-consuming. But take all the time you need, the extra "polish" is what make your game so good. As for the question, I'm not in favour of sending one of your wives back to work in the brothel. On the one hand because it won't necessarily add much in terms of situation or story to tell compared to before, and on the other hand because it makes the marriage more interesting. ➡️You'll have to think twice before getting married if you know that afterwards she can't go back to the brothel. I think that makes the decision more impactful. And it forces you to have a good situation and a high income if you want to marry all the women in the game. Or you could go back to the brothel with her, but as a client this time...😉
My theory is 'do the wives want to keep working at the brothel?' Because most of them there seem to like their job!
Fantastic job completing the endings! This makes me happy, keep up the great work Aka! The whoring out the wife option seems like a good idea if you do implement it, more ways to make money never hurts I think.
From a lore perspective I’m curious on Genie’s view on marriage. Like what does it mean to him to be married? As for pimping out the whore wives, I’m okay with the option.
Messalina the Empress of Rome frequented brothels while she was married, so it would be fun to see something like this. So while I think it's not necessary, I'm interested.

I am so happy that you put care into the side content and polish. This is why I love all your games if I am being honest, so for me, please take as much time as you like. When it comes to letting your wives to work at a brothel again, even if that option is in the game, I will definitely not use it, so for me there is no need to even implement it. But hey, if people want to, go for it! I also like the idea of earning money yourself, there is something more satisfying about it. And that KOTOR quest was amazing to be sure, the writing of this game is superb in general, but this quest was a lot of fun. And to sum it up, congratulations on finishing with the endings!
I have mixed feelings about using wives as "brothel whores". But I would definitely use them as billboard whore for Genie (or other non wife whores). There should be some jobs the wives could do. Like renting out their body parts for ads, act as tip jars (where the tip is white 😉). Or else it would seem that their part is done once wifed up.
Letting the girls work, it would depend on the girl. Like PT your weren't meant to like Jasmine, just turn her into a whore.
I could live without the option for the girls to work. But having it would be preferable imo.

I am glad to know that everything is going well and that you have everything on track, Regarding the "question" I always thought it was great in princess trainer to occupy jasmine with a random job and the genie with Azalea's jobs, which for me was a 50/50 what's good for me,Although well... Being that this time we are talking about "wives" I (personally) would prefer that they could do jobs with waitresses or dancers...Maybe even help the genie in his works, All this is only based on my tastes of course you are the one who knows! I am always interested what part of the my games people enjoyed more, because usually I just here "Princess Trainer was great", but there were so many different elements in it, and of course some worked better then the others and I am always curious to know which parts work best and which parts didn't. XD

Firstly: congratulations on being done with the endings! Ah, the ancient old question: should one whore out his wives or not? xD It made me a bit sad to let the wives work as whores in Princess Trainer. I would much more prefer to send them on individual tasks to earn money. For example: dancing at rich people's parties, working as walking advertisement for businesses, well paid whoring for individual customers (for a hefty fee). I realize this would take a lot more coding and art work, but that's what my whore-loving heart tells me xD. Let's hear what the other bro's think!

I personally think I wouldn't use the feature to use the whore wives to work but I imagine some others will feel different.
OK. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. If I decide to add this, this will be only available for the two of the girls who already were working in the brothel (before you marry them). But yeah, I need to think some more of this, and if it's worth the trouble planning and coding in or not.

Well, it's not a question of alright or not. If I do it, I make it optional of course. I am more curious if you NEED it or if you could leave with out it, since coding this in will take some extra effort.
