347 - Another Monday.
HELLO THERE, bros. It's Monday again, time to do what I do best!
FIGHTING THE CORPOS! Is it weird that I take an odd sort of pride in refusing to update my TV's firmware for more than 3 month now? Not it's not weird! I shall never update it! Never!
DIY MODING. To other news, last week I have purchased a sheet of adhesive felt paper and after watching some YouTube tutorials managed to successfully mod my Switch dock.
NO MORE SCRATICHING! My Switch is about 5 years old by now and the protective film I put on the screen is all scratched up on the sides (Switch owners would know what I am talking about). Anyway, the dock have been successfully modded, now I can replace the protective screen and not worry about it getting scratched up again.
STELLA GLOW. Almost down with my second playthrough of the game. It is taking a while because I did not have much time (energy) to play lately. On the final chapter currently :)
BADE MIYAN CHOTE MIYAN. By a pure chance I stumbled on a trailer for a random Indian action move and it made me feel like it's year 2000 again. Didn't watch the movie itself, it very well could be shit, but the trailer is fire. I wish modern western games and movies had this sort of energy. They used to have it but that time is long gone. Honestly I dare you to watch this trailer and not get pumped:

THE WORK. Dahr continues to work on the achievements. As you can see from the picture above we are still missing 13 icons. And Lyk is still working on the proofreading. (You can find a more detailed update on his page: www.patreon.com/Lyk )
CUT CONTENT. Since I have now ability to make Dahr work faster (Lyk always works fast), I have some extra time on my hands now. I decided to work on some stuff that originally got cut. For example the option to apply different skins to your home background. Yesterday I spent some time working on a Witch Trainer themed skin but then decided to try and repurpose the original WT art instead. The geometry is slightly off, but I think if I use the original art it will have a much stronger nostalgia effect.
LOOKS OK? The pic above is a mock-up, just to give me an idea. I think it could work. I will try to dig up the original PDF file later today and make some adjustments to it so that it would fit in better in the QT setting. If it will end up looking off I will have to get back to drawing everything from scratch, but I think it won't be necessary :)
THAT'S IT. During this week I plan to continue to work on the extra backgrounds and some additional little things that I had no time for originally. In the meantime I will be waiting on Dahr and Lyk to finish their parts. Thank you for your support and patience, guys. See you next week.

Speaking of Witch trainer? Do you ever think of returning to that one? Myself I would love for a gold edition or a sequel even? The standalone mod/fan-project that is circulating is fun, but it is not AKABUR. I think out of the game systems you created, so far I see the most potential with WT, due to its nature of very high replayability.

System updates how they plague us. I have an older samsung TV that does auto updates every second day it seems. That wouldn't bother me so much except that it jumps the notification that it has done the update in the middle of whatever I'm watching. I'm tempted to turn the whole updating off now since I can't see a way to silence the popup. I have an old Blu-ray / Digital TV recorder that once for 2 months wouldn't turn off properly, I had to pull the power plug half the time. Turned out it was a Samsung firmware update that was buggy, it took them that long to release a fix. Samsung as a company seem to be really rubish at firmware updates. I have a PS3 game console that one reason I originally purchased it was you had the option you could run a linux version on it (was even a selling point) then sony decided to firmware update it so you couldn't do that any more, so nice of them. One thing I have updates turned off is for a Pioneer blu-ray player, as I installed a specific firmware that allows me to change region for overseas discs. no way I want that updating and taking away that little fix. And lets not talk about Microsoft Windows....
Yeah. They promised to make things more convenient for us, but more often that not it's the opposite.
those bollywood movies are the only movies that are whats left of the past, but nobody likes watching those typa movies anymore, this is at least true for Gen alpha
I think when eventually they close down movie theatres for good, they will say it was done because people just watched the movies at home and didn't want to pay the ticked price, when in reality the movie just became shit.

I thought about it, but it would be a rather time consuming addition and I don't know when Dahr will just drop a bunch of finished drawings on me (like he often does). I don't want to be stuck in a middle of another big addition to the game when Lyk and Dahr finish their parts. I decided to go with something a bit smaller. If all goes well I'll talk about it next Monday.

Updating the software is almost always bad, why fix something that is not broken? So I would say taking a pride in it is completely normal. Glad you’ve modded your switch,my friend has been complaining about that issue so I’ll recommend him to do that too! Also, the Witch Trainer home skin is absolutely amazing, I would love for it to be unlockable or maybe up for purchase, but the idea already got me and I know I’ll be using it. Modern software is almost always broken.. 😕 We don't expect software to work anymore. Modern software relies on a ridiculous layer of libraries and APIs, taking further and further from hardware. If one of those millions lines of code between your app and the hardware doesn't work properly - your app won't work too. I once tried to log every bug/issue I encounter - I had couple dozens just in a week. Just yesterday spent hours trying to stop Windows adding en-US keyboard layout on every reboot to my ru-RU and en-CA. Had to edit register, do command line - nothing worked.
