An Update on My Page & Commissions
An Update on My Page & Commissions
Dear followers and supporters,
First of all, I want to thank you for your support over the years. I’d like to give you a quick update on my situation:
I am currently entering what is likely the final year of my PhD, which means my workload is not going to decrease anytime soon. Understandably, this will continue to affect the frequency of my posts and updates.
However, I really want to keep this hobby alive and not just give it up. To make that work, I am restructuring my Patreon page.
Tier Changes & Access: All current tiers, except for the former Early Access tier, will be retired. The Early Access tier will be renamed the Support Tier and strictly limited to 5 members. Please note that this tier will no longer have specific benefits—it is purely for those who wish to support me. Additionally, all my posts will now be visible to everyone.
The New Commission System: I’d also like to reintroduce commissions, but with a new, stress-free approach:
The Pitch: From now on, I will make an announcement when I have capacity. You can then submit your ideas to me before a set deadline.
The Options: You can choose between a Simple Commission (€10) and a Detailed Commission (€15).
The Selection: Once the deadline passes, I will select the requests I can best fulfill (2 or 3) and notify the chosen individuals.
The Payment: I will then create a specific, reserved post in the shop for you to purchase. (Note: If someone else accidentally buys your reserved slot, their money will simply be refunded. These posts will be clearly marked).
Why am I doing this? I want to avoid a backlog of unprocessed orders and the pressure that comes with it—after all, this is still my hobby! This method allows me to carefully choose projects I can genuinely execute well, without any upfront cost or risk to you. It also gives us a chance to discuss your idea beforehand, ensuring I can create a piece truly worth seeing. As always, there are no strict time limits for processing, but you are always welcome to check in on the progress.
My Step-by-Step Creation Process: To be completely transparent, here is how I plan to create commissioned images in the future:
Selection: I review and select the commission requests.
Briefing: I contact you to gather all necessary information and reference materials (feel free to provide these!).
3D Blocking: I create the foundational scene in a 3D program to achieve the exact composition I want. If you don't have a specific character in mind, I might use AI tools to help conceptualize at this stage.
Initial Render: I render the scene in a lower quality or as a simple graphic. This saves a massive amount of rendering time and serves as the perfect base.
AI Enhancement: I use AI tools to enhance the level of detail, increase resolution, and potentially give the render a photo-like look to the point, where it does not look like a render anymore. The original 3D composition remains untouched. I hold myself to high standards—my goal is to use AI strictly as a tool to elevate the artwork, not to generate random "AI junk."
Quality Review: I thoroughly review the image. Are all the specific details preserved? Do any artifacts need fixing? I will make manual corrections as needed.
Publication: The final artwork is delivered and published!
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly. To give you a better idea of what this new process looks like, I will be posting some example images soon, based on existing renders.
Thank you so much for your continued patience, attention, and support!
