Hate speech and violence still rising against Roma. I'm one of them. (EXCLUSIVE)

Roma people like Juliya Kondur still face routine daily racism. The mother of six explains why she became an anti-discrimination activist aiming to change attitudes.

Julia thinks that no one has the right to use violence and discrimination against another person, because this means limitation in its various manifestations - physical, moral and psychological. She associates violence and discrimination with pain. When Julia was in school, at some point one of her classmates began to call her a gypsy and behave very aggressively, setting others against her, because a "Romani girl cannot study with them".

Even today, as an adult who is engaged in human rights activities, she still faces aggression from radical groups, from men (both Roma and representatives of other nationalities), who do not like the fact that Romans can act actively and openly. But she got SO used to the fact that Roma people are often humiliated or discriminated against, so she just stopped paying attention to their attacks.

Unfortunately, even today Roma children are bullied in schools because of their ethnicity. Everything that happened to Juliya Kondur at school, has taught her to be a strong woman and not ashamed of her ethnic origin. She doesn't give up, and hopes that our audience will help her to amplify her voice and raise awareness that discrimination towards Gypsies remains widespread. Julia wants this movie to force people to reassess their attitudes. Will you help her?
