Former Supermodel Esmeralda Seay-Reynolds' Resilience Saved Her From Eating Disorders
Former supermodel Esmeralda Seay-Reynolds' eating disorder was triggered by many factors: a family of disordered eaters, a competitive school where thinness was just another arena, and various traumas, all before entering the elite and exacting world of modeling, which further exacerbated her issues surrounding food and her desire for control. After modeling for Chanel, Marc Jacobs, and various Vogues, Esmeralda had a seizure from Liver failure at age 17.
At 18, she went to treatment to recover and enable her to achieve her dreams of acting and writing. These dreams were what pushed Esmeralda, once a runway star, and today a strong and resilient woman, to fight for recovery, but in this video, she tells how she fought -- what helped, what encouraged, and what she learned.
