Rocyie Wong isn't ashamed of her skin condition and wants to encourage other women to feel the same. It's not easy to deal with a skin disease of any kind, and it's especially not easy when you live in an Asian country like Malaysia. After making the bold move of opening up about her psoriasis on Instagram, Rocyie Wong has made waves on social media, attracting thousands of users to follow her account.

Most notably, she has served as a source of inspiration to not just fellow patients out there, but to those suffering other types of skin conditions as well. To love and embrace oneself wholly is a message she champions. And in hopes of aiding those who are in the same predicament, Rocyie started it all when she kickstarted a personal project called "Naked".

Psoriasis is a long-lasting, noncontagious autoimmune disease characterized by raised areas of abnormal skin. These areas are typically red, or purple on some people with darker skin, dry, itchy, and scaly. Psoriasis varies in severity from small, localized patches to complete body coverage. Injury to the skin can trigger psoriatic skin changes at that spot, which is known as the Koebner phenomenon. Psoriasis causes skin cells to multiply up to 10 times faster than normal. This makes the skin build up into bumpy red patches covered with white scales.

Psoriasis is a common skin condition, but as expected, it is not one that has much prominence in Malaysia.
