Blood Envoy - pages 5-13
Graphic novel update 2: I’ve taken her through to the end of chapter 1!
Part 1 of first chapter here.
It’s interesting finally seeing how the comic is going to look. Perhaps that sounds a little strange coming from the artist - But until I started figuring out what would actually make me feel satisfied with how each panel looked, it was a bit of a mystery to me.
So here it is - I think I have it: Fonts. Sound effects. Art style.
There will no doubt be more tweaks and modifications as I evolve, but I feel like we are finally on our way.
Hoorah!

1. Okay that answers my question about dialogue. 2. Maaaannnn this is so good. I love the panel of her face scrunched up, how it makes her look a little ugly, it's refreshing and genuine. Your realistic style always blows me away. The second to last page, with her trying to get up and slumping on the floor was very funny (i mean it as a compliment!). Now I'm hooked, good luck with the next batch!
Love the lack of softness in the sound effect font so far. It feels mechanical or rough in a great way. Woo hoo chapter 1 and we're already on Mars!
Loving how stripped back this is.
Oh wow, happy memories. My dad's company made parts for the Marquardt R4-D and earlier versions/prototypes. They had some not-quite-spec parts in the display case in the front office. They're probably long gone now but they were fun to play with as a kid. Marquardt was a ~really wild~ place, into everything. Thanks for the reminder and the super-awesome graphic novel!!! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marquardt_Corporation
Better look at the (remarkably complex yet simple) mechanisms. https://apolloartifacts.com/marquardt-r-4d-apollo-spacecraft-attitude-control-engine/
Love the last frame especially
Yes! That last frame is so cool
*spits a tooth out* hooray, Mars.
