[Poll] Why are you supporting Swords?
Hi,
As you may know, there's a lot happening with Swords right now. The comics are on a brief hiatus before the next Darkness Before Time story update, the card game and video game are both on their way and now with the Writers Strike concluded, there's some potential to take the IP and do more things with it too.
What I wanna know is - why are YOU here? I think it's important going into 2024 that I know what the real purpose/function/mission of this Patreon page is - maybe what I think its priorities should be are a little different from yours.

Purely because of swords
I really like the series, both swords and stars. I really enjoy your worldbuilding and creativity. I got convinced to join to get the extras for the card game. I would also like other content, like a series, as you hinted at before. The game could be fun, but if it does not come out for ps4 or MacBook I will not be able to play it.
Honestly I just liked reading through the comics and thought I'd throw a couple of bucks to support that. I'm not really interested in e.g. the game or larger / other projects, but I also don't mind them as long as the regular comics continue. :)
I fell in love with Sprout. And stayed I sometimes don't get the jokes. :-) but thats ok. I love the series and puns are fun.

Honestly though, I’m just here because I find the comic hilarious and interesting! Also because Matthew is just plain awesome!
I don't really know why I am here. I guess the sprout tier was cheap and I just wanted to support something because I could.
Voting "Other" because its a mix of enjoying the comic in its current form and wanting to ensure the well-being of the creator. To me its important that content creators and artists are sustainable if I want them to stick around, especially in these uncertain times of image generation and LLMs turning things upside down for creators. Specifically I prefer them to be sustainable without ethically questionable compromises like ads, paywalls, platform lock-in, loss of creative control, or destroying ones mental health on social media. Hence why supporting on Patreon is ideal for me. Without knowing the future I can't say what other forms I would enjoy but I wouldn't mind more Swords content of course. The hard part is balancing more/different forms of content without impacting the quality or quantity of the current form of comic content. There is only so much time and energy per person. You know best what you're able to pull off, but keep your well-being in mind first of all. :)
