[Poll] Another Deceptively Simple Poll

Should I be focused on aggressively growing the Swords Patreon so I can increase the amount of Swords projects I'm working on at any given time; or should I take more creative contracts from other people to expand my reach/contacts/reputation/industry-knowledge?

(Some examples of IP I did art for but don't own are Clusterduck, Dream Team Supreme and Dazzling Dungeon Decks)

I just voted as well and it on 50/50 again, sorry 😭. But regardless: I still very much would like to see you do things that you genuinely enjoy and find fulfilling

Guys are you for real right now (it's 50/50)

Welp, the vote is 50-50 when I checked in. So I guess the answer is “carry on”. Follow your heart, good sir.

How would you grow swords? 🤔 would you plant a needle?

Put a pommel nut in the ground

Looks pretty clear to me - Work on Swords while taking the best outside opportunities you can fit in. Don't you think?

I voted against my own selfish-interests this time... I'm a SWORDS fanatic, but I think a greater diversity of portfolio will net you greater dividends in the long run. You never know what crazy idea might grab the interest of the masses and make you rich enough to pursue all your dreams at leisure, so best to fire them all into the crowd and see which one hits (or at least make more contacts and networks and increase your reach).

I think asking fellow artists what's worked for them would be good, because all I'm gonna say is do what makes your heart happy. It's not a good answer because it doesn't take into account your goals and doesn't account for the benefits and downsides of either option.

Also I voted Swords because it's the thing I like that you make.

Really depends which one will benefit you more in the long run, I’d say.

M
Matthew Wills · June 8, 2026

They both have benefits, for sure

T

Yes. You should definitely do one of those things.

M
Matthew Wills · June 8, 2026

Statistically likely I'll try to juggle both and get sad about it

I’m of the opinion that you should do what you want to do but I still voted.

M
Matthew Wills · June 8, 2026

I always do what I want to do, but I incorporate the wisdom of the group into my decisions

This made someone cancel their membership, sorry to see you go
