I should, but I have so many other projects happening, I can't really commit to that right now.
You ever thought about a TV show?
I've had some talks with people. I let things sit idle during the Writer's Strike and to the best of my knowledge the Animation industry is currently mostly dominated by Netflix. Animated shows are getting ruthlessly cancelled left and right, or written off as a tax return when they're already finished. If the right opportunity presents itself and I can find people to support me, I'll go for it, but there's a real possibility that Kickstarting my own pilot would be the safer way for it to see the light of day. I could also attempt the live action route, and filming it here in New Zealand as a sort of Lord of the Rings parody could be a selling point, but I haven't really explored that option much.
Can you tell us about a project that never got published?
About a decade ago I tried to sort of brute-force my way into game development by making thousands of art assets for a game called underVillage, but the programmers who volunteered to bring it to life never really aligned on the same goals as me and so the project just sort of spun out over the next 10 months. There were weird fights over little things. It was supposed to be a weird little town-building game like Don't Starve and Animal Crossing merged together.
How are you? You sounded a bit burnt out for a while there.
Oh I am SO burnt out. But you don't stop dancing 'till the curtain falls. I dunno, I think if I tried to list all the reasons why it would quickly turn into an essay, which would just feel bad for everyone. There's been a lot of setbacks lately. But I am ALIVE and things can always improve.
How do they get the fig into figrolls? (Was that a thing in New Zealand or was it only Ireland?)
I don't know if I've ever had a figroll, but I assume they roll it somehow!

On average how long does it take to make an episode of a swords comic from conception to posting?
I think about 3 or 4 hours. I could make an episode in an hour with no idea to start with if I really, really hustled and cut some corners.
