One More Thing: Parachron
Greetings Adventurers,
So, I live in a college town and this is the first week of classes which kind of wraps up the fun of the quiet summers that we get around here. It also meant that this weekend was absolutely insane around town. That's fine by me though as I enjoy both modes my area goes through. It's in that cyclical passing of time that I found inspiration for this month's creature.
As with all of these One More Thing releases, it's exclusive to patrons. If you're not a patron and want this release, please consider supporting us here. For patrons, you'll have to grab the files from your master post (linked below) or from the Katalogue to see the stats. We hope you enjoy it.
Design notes from Matthew:
I'm always fascinated by the cycles that things go through considering that it seems to be the same year to year at least where I live. Seeing people move out in the summer and on with their lives, then coming back in the fall and beginning another round of semesters. It's an interesting thing to study and something that I wanted to bring into one of our creations, but I never knew how.
Our good friend Tom Cartos was working on a temple of time for this month and I thought that would be a great opportunity to perhaps explore something that commented on the cyclical nature of time. Fernando provided the perfect idea in the sort of "Groundhog's Day" style of a creature that must be killed in a certain way or it comes back again.
I had thought that was an awesome idea and a way for us to tie the item directly into the creature so that you had a convenient reward to give to the players right after a really tough fight. I had been wanting to create a surprise encounter like this one for some time and it's so great to finally get to bring it to you all.
I hope you all had an amazing summer as we begin the shift towards fall festivals and activities (at least in my part of the world). For our southern hemisphere friends, hopefully the coming summer is kind to you and you get to enjoy it as much as I've enjoyed mine.
