One More Thing: Oracle of Seasons
Greetings Adventurers,
April is coming to a close but that doesn't mean we're done. We've got just one more thing for you to dig your mitts into for this month and it's a season oriented creature that adapts to combat as it participates. We've been wanting to do something to commemorate the changing of the seasons and it just seemed like the perfect time to do it as we transition into spring here in the northern hemisphere and fall in the sourthern.

Design notes from Matthew:
This one started with the idea of an evolving resistance mechanic that I've wanted to do for awhile that had a bit of a seasonal flare to it with the different types of damage that it could mitigate along the way. I didn't know how to pair that out with the rest of a creature theme, but once I had the idea to pair that with extra damage of the type that it had resistance to at the moment, everything kind of came together for me.
I needed to fill out the rest of the mechanics to make this into something more that just defense and offense, so that's when I knew that I wanted to give it a lot of alternate damage as well as utility that could come in the way of an interesting spell list which fleshed out the entirety of the toolkit and didn't require me to reinvent the wheel of interesting utility.
Once I paired that up with Fernando's amazing illustration, this thing really came together in a way that I'm extremely proud of. I think that as we continue to develop more and more for 5E and PF2E we're getting the opportunity to take some more risks and develop more interesting content. I'm thankful that you all give us that opportunity.
It's been great creating for another quarter of the year already. A friend pointed that out to me and I about fell off my chair, but sure enough we're a quarter of the way through 2026 already and that means we've been able to create another 4 amazing creatures for you and over a dozen items as well, which is just rad!
