Greetings adventurers!
The shifting prismatics of this sword make it an absolute nightmare to transfer, I’ll tell you. Do you think it’s easy to just pack something up like that and ship it across the realms? No, you need specialized packaging and mounting for it. I ended up just carrying it for most of the trip, which did garner some unwanted attention. The good news is that I had just the right tool to deal with that unwanted attention. I will say, there’s something beautifully dazzling about gazing upon the shifting colors of this sword. It’s almost as mesmerizing as it is deadly. I’m not sure exactly where it came from, but the craftsmanship is truly outrageous.

Design notes from Matthew:
It had been far too long since we just did a big freaking powerful sword. Every once in awhile it’s great to come back to basics like that and just make something that’s outright fun and powerful and that you know people will be clamoring for on their high level characters. Also, theming is something really important to me and when I thought of the idea of a stained glass sword (not the most unique thing but so be it), I knew I wanted to play with the prismatic nature of it, which is something I haven’t seen as much of.
On the 5E side, the most pressing part for me was making sure the spells were the right ones. Really there’s a more limited spell pool in 5E so sometimes you feel a bit more pressure to pick the right ones. Thankfully I had the perfect ones in mind right off the rip for this sword. The rest of it mostly fell into place as I built around the theme of those two spells. I think being able to change the damage type on the fly really sets this piece apart as a legendary and makes for some interesting interactions.
For the PF2E version, I spent a lot of time scanning through spells and deciding on the perfect ones for the theme and power. There’s actually a lot of prismatic spells in the occult school so I wanted to make sure I had the right ones. Letting them do a bit more like allowing it to have a Strike built in was just for usability. Furthermore, I really wanted to let this scale with the melee users who were most likely to use this weapon, thus why I wrote the spell DC as I did. I think it’s a fun way to make sure the item stays relevant even into epics.
It’s great to circle back from low level consumables to high level powerful weapons like this. It’s awesome that we get the chance to explore all corners of what kind of items we can offer and folks seem excited about checking them out regardless. It’s truly appreciated that you all are so supportive of many different endeavors here.
We highly encourage you to join our Discord server where you’ll get access to exclusive channels that have sneak peeks, behind the scenes chatter, and more.

Looks great. small typo on the 5e "once" should be "one" on the first spell action.
Great catch and sorry about that. I've updated all of the files on the master posts and here with a fixed version of that typo!
God damn, this one is gorgeous!
