The same, derivative performances, a repetition of death, and rigid, standardized music… I was at that point where I was growing tired of ALIEN STAGE. It’s true that every season was a hit, but increasingly so, I believed that there lacked a special spark, or a new phenomenon. That is… until I saw <My Clematis>.

“The First and the Greatest Harmony, My Clematis”

“Who will trump their opponent?” This has always been ALIEN STAGE’s standard to determine their winner, as well as the key point of the show. For this reason, victory had always gone to the participant who outshone the other with a more sensational performance.

But the Round 1 act, <My Clematis>, was different. SUA and MIZI looked each other in the eye and sang, as if sharing their emotions and the music together. This performance, which had compromised technique and a fancy show, struck the audience with a sense of sincerity. We can even say that this was the performance to shatter all conventions surrounding the “Round 1 standard.”

<My Clematis> was the first and the greatest harmony to ever happen on ALIEN STAGE, as it exhibited a never-before-seen chemistry between two participants. SUA and MIZI’s beautiful voices resonated in the audiences’ hearts, leading to one of the closest voting results in the history of AS. Perhaps, it was a performance only made possible by SUA and MIZI, for they were two friends since childhood.

MIZI narrowly survives by a single point. Will her song take her to victory? I truly look forward to her next performance.
