Reacting to "Striking" by Ovrkast
I'm glad I kept it simple for this weekend, because I'm still feeling whooped over this damn cold I've got. But I'm also glad I took the time to check out this new release by Ovrkast. Been seeing good things online, and it's definitely living up to the praise.
Enjoy 🍻

Allowing yourself to have moments of weakness makes you stronger in the long run
Please give testing by A$AP Rocky a go
Hey Bob, I’ve been watching your reactions for a while now, and I think Loyle Carner’s album “hopefully” would be perfect for your channel. He’s a London rapper who sits somewhere between hip-hop, jazz, and spoken-word poetry, and his music is warm, honest, and personal in a way that I think you’d really connect with. He writes about family, fatherhood, growing up, and trying to be a good person in a messy world, which are the kind of themes that hit differently when you’ve got some life experience behind you. The production is smooth and soulful, and his delivery is relaxed and conversational, so you can really sit with the lyrics and feel every line. I’d love to hear your honest, in-the-moment take on it, because I think you’d pick up on the heart in his storytelling and give it the kind of thoughtful reaction it deserves. Give it a spin, Bob. I don’t think you’ll regret it!
There’s an unintentional Oakland connection to the line “wake up and thank god for the storm” on washed out. AroMa has a track called ‘rained all week’. She says in her chorus “my grass is greener because it rained all week” For Oakland natives some of us can resonate with both lines because rain isn’t necessarily associated with a “bad day” to us but it can be seen as a chance to grow, refresh “hydrate” in a sense of preparation and being able to hold fast.
So glad you sat with this album and enjoyed it. Ovrkast. Is a mutual friend of mine and I’m so happy to see him continue to shine and reach the ears of so many people who respect the art of hiphop.
Dude who tf are these artists man??? Please get back to the original framework of going through the best the genre has to offer. Classics. This obscure stuff has no reason to be prioritized
