(MP3 Format) Reacting to "In Search Of" by N.E.R.D
2002 counts as a classic, right? Especially if it's Pharrell? Feels like it. Either way, settled on a classic today, and glad I did. Lots of fun to listen to.
Fun tidbit about Lapdance: I just played it for my wife because I felt like I'd heard it somewhere before, and she immediately said it was just like "that one Britney Spears song." Sure 🙄. After some back and fourth, we figured out she was talking about "Slave 4 U." I looked up the producers for that song, and who do we find? The Neptunes. Though I don't agree that Lapdance and Slave 4 U sound as similar as she thinks, her essentially getting the producers right was pretty impressive.
Good job, wifey.

Rock rap …. WE NEED YOU TO LISTEN TO …..PARIS TEXAS
In Search Of came out 24 years ago. Reacting to a 2002 album in 2026 is like reacting to The Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main St. in 1996. The Beach Boys’ Surfin’ Safari in 1986. Or Hank Williams’ Moanin’ the Blues in 1976. I don't think there should be any question whether it's old enough to be in the classic category. It's hard to imagine someone in 1996 wondering whether The Rolling Stones should be considered a classic rock band.
Bob I would still appreciate a Eminem revisit. You spoke on it in the past I’d love a Eminem show reaction
