Reacting to "NASIR" by Nas
The EP weekend continues with this gem. Can't believe I took so long to listen to it. If you happen to see me in the wild someday, feel free to yell "Shame!" at me, followed by "Took to long for NASIR!" when I look back confused.
Enjoy!

I still find it crazy that you’re still crying about what he’s said. I guess mental illness is unforgivable in your book, which is pretty cruel, can’t lie. He’s literally been diagnosed by doctors as well. I can’t imagine what kind of dick I’d be if I held a grudge against someone in my family or social circle for things they did during psychosis when they’ve been diagnosed with a mental illness — ESPECIALLY after they officially apologized and showed that they’re trying to be better. Oh man.. It’s just sad, Bob. I feel sorry for you, honestly. Meanwhile, literally hundreds of thousands of people are enjoying his “all hits” incredible globe tour, which is an absolutely phenomenal show, breaking records, and I even traveled several thousand kilometers to see it — and we had one of the best nights of our lives, once in a lifetime thing.. Probably his only and last tour in this kind of format. He has more hits than anyone else in hip-hop. Amazing show, absolutely amazing. So many people who’ve been to it say it’s one of the best, if not the best, concerts they’ve ever been to, and I’m not gonna argue with that :D And on top of that, his music is being listened to and enjoyed more than ever. Graduation is still literally one of the most (if not the most)-listened-to hip-hop albums even today. And you’re sitting there, occasionally listening to a couple of random songs while holding onto all that bitterness. Bob.. :D You’re missing out, genuinely. Sad to see. But Bob, you do you. It is what it is. Great project. Ye’s production is legendary as always, Nas is sharp, and I actually hadn’t listened to this album in a very long time. Thanks!
You can still like Kanye's music, but having the audacity to be surprised when people don't like the guy is ridiculous. Mental issues only give you so much of an excuse, it might be different line for everybody that's kind of arbitrary where you draw it. But at some point you can acknowledge that a guy can do so much damage that even a legitimate mental disorder diagnosis doesn't excuse the behavior. Plenty of people with bipolar manic episodes don't become Nazis, destroy their families, produce AI slop, run failing Montessori schools, have to settle sexual harassment lawsuits, say slavery was a choice and racism isn't real, etc. etc. etc. At some point, you look at people like this and no matter how much they apologize for their behavior, you don't have to like them because of how they conduct themselves. If you've known you've had a disorder for decades and you constantly refuse medication or treatment and refuse to surround yourself with people with your best interests in mind, or set up some other sorts of contingencies whenever you're stable, at some point some part of that is on you. You absolutely don't have to like the guy and a light boycott is totally understandable. Can't deny that a lot of the music is still pretty fucking awesome, though.
Anytime I can get to listen NAS with Bob, I'm happy.... Before the recent trilogies I still hope Bob goes back to especially The Lost Tapes (2002), DISTANT RELATIVES with Damian Marley (2010) and Life Is Good (2012), altough after those you'd wonder how could he not give God's Son (2002) and Hip Hop Is Dead (2006) their due listens as well.... And THEN we'd proceed to the trilogy albums if you asked me :'D I know it sounds like unreasonably much, but we're talking about Nas man, and I feel like the fact that Nas delivered such stellar albums at a later age overshadows the even better ones that had come before, that's all
If you wanted to venture into pop, you could do the Charli XCX Vroom Vroom EP produced by Sophie
If you loved the production on this album you should listen to peace fly god by Westside Gunn. There’s also a lot of Stove God Cooks and Etstee Nack on the album which you have not listen to. You should also listen to Finding Forever by Common, it has some of Kanyes best production.
Glad I could suggest, can’t wait to watch ❤️
