The dynamic between John Stewart and Hal Jordan is a great example and stark reminder of how the powers that be lie, manipulate, and pit us against each other, rather than use their power to benefit all of us. They systematically use our insecurities to fuel hate and mistrust between us. We sometimes lose parts of ourselves and our identity in this battle against the wrong "enemy". And with episode 5 of Lanterns, I believe John Stewart showed how to get out of that toxic cycle. Stop playing their fucking game! In other words, FUCK THE GUARDIANS!!

Such a a good episode John has had enough of the guardian lady to last multiple lifetimes. And Hal taking that beating was tough to watch
And she always has that look on her face that is so annoying. Like she knows what the fuck she's doing but plays like she's oblivious Honestly and I don't blame Hal. Of course i would act like a dick if everybody was on my neck like that
Yea Hal and John would get along so much better without the guardians and sinestro in their ear. We saw a little bit of that in ep 4. When they can truly work together they can be a good team. They had potential before hal crashed the car 😭. A testimony to the actors too because they have such good chemistry. Hopefully ep 5 isn't the last time Hal and John see each other before his death. Though I think in this episode even with the tension between the two they still have grown to know each other pretty well like how Hal guessed that John left him as bait in the rubble. There's still a level of respect there even then. And I loved the detail that John didn't trust the guardians specifically because they didn't tell hal he was getting replaced.
Absolutely. They are such a unit together. If only there were two rings for this sector! Who knows? Maybe they are. I can't trust the fucking guardians. For real, it's almost like they made the bait plan without even talking, after just whooping each other's ass. And yes, John not trusting the Guardians for how they wanted to play hal just shows he's such an honorable man
