[UPDATE] I'm ready for SPONSORED TV SHOWS🙏🏾

Updated portion (But still read everything below to get a full understanding)

Thank you all for a lot of the great suggestions and thoughts when this was initially posted. There were a lot of helpful tips given, and I also gave my input on why they might not work from the creator's point of view. So check below for my responses to those. Here are the ideas that we stuck with:

  • Sponsoring a TV show will be $100 per episode

  • Single-season shows and miniseries are preferred for simplicity. HOWEVER🔽🔽

  • Anthology series or the 1st season of ANY show can be sponsored. Please NOTE: This does not guarantee that I will continue that show or that it wins a poll after. Do not rely on me to decide to continue a show. The community decides (polls) or a 2nd season is sponsored.

  • Some shows also have short episodes per season (e.g., both seasons can be 12 eps total), so the overall number of episodes that can be sponsored at a time is 15 episodes.

  • We use the same process that we've been using for requesting a TV show. Details here: https://www.patreon.com/frankfreezy/posts/updated-and-155179286

  • I still reserve the right to decline a request if I don’t feel 100% comfortable with it. Either because it doesn’t fit the overall vibe of my channel, or just my personal interest level. I don’t want you to pay for something and then watch me be bored as hell throughout it. I will never pretend to enjoy something I don’t because I’m getting paid to do it. I want it to be a mutually enjoyable experience for all of us. That’s the goal✨

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Initial post before update:
Before I say anything else, just a reminder that this is absolutely OPTIONAL. When you pay for my Patreon membership, you already get ALL the benefits of the tier you sign up for. Sponsorships are for those who want to pay extra for a reaction separate from the usual channel schedule. Plus, I am hyper aware of the financial situation that we all, as a community, are in - in this day and age. I'm only offering this service because it has been requested multiple times. AGAIN, it is optional. You are getting everything you paid for. This is just extra for people who want to pay extra. I can't emphasize that enough!

As usual, this is an ongoing conversation. I want to be fair with you all about pricing, what I'm thinking, and I'm also open to suggestions. Currently, we have crowdfunded and sponsored 14 movies, which is wild now that I think about it. Forever thankful to you all. At least to me, It shows that the crowdfunding and sponsorship method we landed on has been quite successful and mutually beneficial.

Each movie sponsored was $280. Movies are typically 2 hours long, give or take. So when I brainstormed how to price a TV show, I thought it might make sense to price it by the hour. So that might be $140 per hour. BUT I know a lot of episodes are less than an hour, so I just thought $100 flat per episode. STILL, that could easily become an outrageous amount of money, depending on how long a TV show is. So I started thinking of restricting it to only miniseries or single-season shows. So a show like Sharp Objects with 8 episodes would be $800. Even that still sounds like a lot, but that's just the idea I came up with that seemed kind of fair - Instead of some large, arbitrary amount. Plus, what has made the crowdfunding quite convenient is that the more people that chip in, the less it is for everybody. For example, if 12 people wanted to crowdfund for Sharp Object, that would only be around $65 per person.

Now what do I need from you? I want to hear your thoughts and ideas (yes, including all you wonderful silent watchers who never comment; this is your community too. How have you seen other channels do TV show sponsorships? Do you like the idea above or not? How would you change or improve it? Your opinions are very important in this matter.

In case you are new or need a refresher on the sponsoring process, check this post https://www.patreon.com/frankfreezy/posts/sponsored-and-155179286?collection=2384611

Many thanks people💐🙏🏾

Just a clarification question: each episode is $100 regardless if it's an hour or half an hour in length?

F
FrankFreezy · September 19, 2026

Yes. Going by movies sponsorships by the hour, it would’ve been $140 per episode. So making it a flat $100 felt right cause not all eps are 1 hr

I think doing limited series is the best way to go about it, also you could do them for anthology series and people would sponsor for the season they want to see sense you won’t need prior knowledge on other seasons (example American horror story)

F
FrankFreezy · September 19, 2026

Anthology series are a great idea

Anait · September 17, 2026

What if we sponsor one episode (or more if someone wants to) and then the show gets added to the polls?

F
FrankFreezy · September 17, 2026

The more I think about it - I think this idea works. Because then I don't have to decide what to watch; the poll does. However, I also fear that shows like that would never win a poll because sponsored stuff usually doesn't have a chance of winning the general channel poll. But it's worth a try

Looove this. I think limited series is the way to go. They're generally the best I think. Quality over quantity 😃 I have so many to contribute to - Task, Mare, Maid, High Fidelity..... Definitely others I'm forgetting right now

I'm probably one of the only people in the world who likes High Fidelity (the series) more than High Fidelity (the movie)

Small suggestion, maybe instead of specifying only single season shows, there could be a cut off of how many episodes the show can have in order to be sponsored? Or maybe single-season ORbelow (however many you decide) total episodes? That would keep each sponsored show's time dedicated and sponsorship amount needed manageable as it would be similarly low episode counts, but it would allow sponsoring shows that have very short seasons due to the network they were on, or a very short first seasons before being picked up for a normal second season. (Example: one of my favorite shows is six episodes long but it's technically two seasons.) But also these are just thoughts and the way you specified sounds great already, definitely a good start!

F
FrankFreezy · September 17, 2026

That is a great idea.

Juliet · September 17, 2026

No ideas about the methodology, but I'd be excited to see this! I don't watch too many movies, but I'd absolutely contribute to a show I love.

F
FrankFreezy · September 17, 2026

sounds great

M
Melissa · September 16, 2026

Frank, might I suggest a different chat thread for sponsored limited series so it is separate from movies?

F
FrankFreezy · September 17, 2026

Great idea. I'll do that as soon as we make a concrete plan

Amina · September 16, 2026

My two favorite shows have 15 and 18 seasons respectively so I might need to think on this one 😂

Saving people? Hunting things?

Yoliciel · September 16, 2026

The Sarah Connor Chronicles, only 1 season (cancelled but worth watching) … which only works if you’ve seen Terminator 1 & 2 This is a series I could see myself sponsoring 🥰

F
FrankFreezy · September 17, 2026

That's dope. Maybe I should bring Terminator back into the polls

M
Myra · September 16, 2026

Hi Frank, you know the one and only TV show I want: Battlestar Galactica.😁 I will not be able to sponsor the whole show on my own, but I could start with the Pilot (two parts with 3 hours all together) and season one (12 episodes).

F
FrankFreezy · September 16, 2026

Hello Myra :) I would love to watch Battlestar. I answered a comment below about why sponsoring pilots alone might not work. But if people can come together to make it happen, I'm absolutely watching it.

M
Melissa · September 16, 2026

I would contribute to any one of the shows in the image except QG (only bc I've seen it so many times).

How about a show with multiple seasons needs a full season of sponsorship to be included, but only that 1 sponsored season will be reacted to. That show then goes into future polling for an opportunity to be voted into rotation, or until the next season sponsorship is met. It could leave big gaps between seasons but it lets you watch other stuff in between and it's ultimately the community that gets to determine the speed each season is reacted to, either by sponsoring or by voting. Also, just something to consider... What if you absolutely hate the show, would I make sense to have a pilot program where only 1 episode needs to be committed to the people paying can gauge your reaction before committing to more episodes? Just food for thought, hopefully not adding any complexity here.

E
Ellen Noir · September 16, 2026

I was thinking about that too (committing him to 8 hours of something he's not into). Even if we're all only thinking in terms of what he might get the most out of, there's always the possibility of miscalculation.

M
Melissa · September 16, 2026

I think doing limited series is the way to go!!! (Naturally, I calculated "The Leftovers," which, yeah, that isn't happening. I know eventually it'll get on the channel. The power of positive thinking. 😂)

E
Ellen Noir · September 16, 2026

First thing I thought of too, of course lol

j
jiji! · September 16, 2026

What about sponsoring a pilot? Like, they sponsor the first episode and pay for you to guarantee you try it, and you decide whether or not you'll continue?
