If you haven't voted in the last poll, this is your final chance!
I do appreciate all your comments concerning The Handmaid's Tale's heaviness. The subject matter is something I've always wanted to cover/explore on that show, so if it ends up winning, I have no problem covering it🙏🏾. I think I'm fine with heavy shows if written well and are also good for discourse. The Walking Dead came up a few times in those comments; I think my frustration with that is more of the writing, not necessarily the heaviness. Appreciate your thoughts as always🌸

Now and then we have to mention how much you would love A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. Served in bite-sized half-hour episodes, and the only thing in the Game of Thrones universe that everybody seems to love.
On one poll you offered The Gilded Age, but I’m here to represent for its far better written predecessor Downton Abbey. Maggie Smith!
The series that topped Rolling Stone’s list of all-time best TV shows is a little sumpthin’ called The Sopranos. Have I mentioned The Sopranos? 😎
Is it only one show from the poll that you'll be watching or a couple? Would love to see Widow's Bay win but looks like it'll just miss out. I'd love to see another poll for single season shows soon. I have a few recommendations - Task, High Fidelity, Normal People, Freaks and Geeks. Honestly there's so many brilliant single series shows that never win when they up against longer shows. I think I prefer a great one season show because there's usually no time for the quality to drop
Just 1 show. That's a good idea
I think given the era we are living in—with all that is at stake—that watching Handmaid’s Tale is an act of resistance. It’s a hard watch. But now is the time we need to try to gather the courage to look with an unflinching gaze at what we’re facing.
All that being said, "The Newsreader" best be on the next poll!! Right, FoxTaco??!!
Yes! It's easily one of the best shows I've ever watched and Frank will have some of the best opinions on the subject matter. It's literally a show taiilored to exactly what he does in his reactions
I was one of the "beware" comments on HT, but if it wins, I'll still re-watch it with you. 🤷♀️ I think you're the only reactor I could do that with -- mainly because you're such a strong voice for women, and I love that about you. Plus, Samira Wiley is in it. ❤️
I'm so glad you gave The Handmaid's Tale a chance. I know it's an incredibly heavy watch, but it's such an important story to experience. The acting is absolutely phenomenal not just from the "good" characters, but from everyone. And the soundtrack is simply beautiful. Everything comes together in a way that makes the story hit even harder and stay with you long after you've finished watching.
Handmaids Tale would be perfect for how you react to shows. It's definitely a good one for discussions. I watched it with my mom and we had lengthyyyy convos after each episode
If it wins I’ll watch it with you - I’ve watched the first few seasons and as a woman it is very scary to watch, partly because of the realism. I think the voting may be more out of concern over the audience’s feelings about the subject matter... A lot of people may feel unable to revisit the content if they’ve seen it before, or else know it would be harmful to them. I personally would watch this with you, because for me, having someone talking through what I’m watching is helpful for me to process it, but I think a lot of others may feel triggered by it and worried about unsuspecting viewers who might be triggered watching it, too. ETA: that said everyone is responsible for their own media consumption, of course. The trigger warnings for that show are easy to find. I just think a lot of people might not vote for it for this reason, because they don’t want to spend time in that space and that’s what the vote and comment section might be reflecting, just general unease about it.
manifesting the pitt win i’ve been on the edge of my seat checking it every day 😭💀
I’ve had The Pitt near the top of my want-to-watch list for so long and haven’t gotten to it. I can’t think of a better place than here to finally see it!
