- UPDATE - Added a new version where I removed the extra lines in the transition screen as it really does feel awkward and too long to sit in there, think the new cut flows much better.
This is a real thing on Faerûn 100% ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I included two versions, one without the intro in the folder. I really thought I had something clever going with a nice direction for the camera work and cinematography and I tried to cut some corners with the fade to black for the scene transition, but once I started putting everything together with sound, I kind of regretted it. At the very least, I could have animated and shown her “warning” since it feels a bit lackluster just sitting in the transition screen. Lesson learned at least.
It’s a pretty simple concept overall and I enjoyed working on this one since I was practicing the new workflow. I tried doing more small transitions into each other to reinforce it. I definitely still need more practice, but I feel more confident with it now than when I first started.
A bit of a TED talk about the bigger project. The reason I even started learning a new approach to animation is because a lot of what I did for that project just isn’t very good. Maybe it’s the "perfectionist" in me or just the usual of being my own worst critic, but I did two retakes of what I storyboarded and it was really rough no matter how much I worked on it. So I decided to change how I approach animating altogether. These two projects Hard to Ignore (VO still in progress) and Strange Customs are basically my way of practicing that.
I’ll probably do one or two more of these shorter pieces, maybe around two to three minutes long, just to really get this workflow down so I can actually make the bigger project presentable. Alright, enough rambling. Apologies for the lack of content, working on fixing that and will pause next month billing as well.
Thank you very much for all the support and stay safe out there!
