[Q&A+] Extracting Info from CMB, Second-Best Mars, Living Off Earth | Q&A 380

Which part of the Universe does the CMB come from? Is Mars the best planet for habitability of all ones we found so far? How important is it to find a way to live off Earth? And in Q&A+, did we extract everything we can from the CMB?

I actually was not a big fan of Stranger Things however, my bonus daughter was madly in love with the show and she was like 11 so obviously she kept going on about it and though I was working a lot I started watching it with her again not my gag but few years later I kind of got hooked, and I got to be honest I was not disappointed and I’m sure you’ve watched already because this is a video from before that final one was released so I think they wrapped it up well however bring on fall out. I am super excited and just from the previews how much it’s looking pretty much like what I wanted it to look like damn this old lady is super excited.

Way before having a train we are literally building huts right now people that’s why we’ve got to encourage our young people and support the scientific community and we’ll get there. I mean we do have to get there but we need to be realistic so we could see humans sitting in a old Timey Tavern and I’m jumping here as are talking about building a railway truth is.. is that we’re not even close. We ( humans ) need to invest more in our children with education, teaching, learning and having fun. Money ( as we are human) and be supporting the amazing human beings that are doing this work now. let’s do our best. It is on our shoulders, sensitive measurements those that wish for the human race to get better whether it’s AI brackets sketches the crap out of me off what can be done but science and teaching our children and investing because apparently money is super significant in this battle, which is sad because it’s just money however, it is required so let’s do our best to support our scientific community and teach have fun conversation and Rock are kids worlds so they are excited about the things were excited about

No other habitable planets are near enough to get to.

The moon is an excellent staging ground with resources at the bottom of a very shallow gravity well.

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to live among the air pressure of your typical jet flight altitude, Mars is your go-to. Seriously, that dearth of air pressure will likely prove one of its biggest challenges. The term 'blow-out' will become word of the year the moment we establish (inflatable?) tent like habitats on its surface.

Regarding Mars, maybe since our solar system has a planet like that, many others do too. After all, we're not invoking the Anthropic Principle here; our existence doesn't depend on the existence of 'our Mars', so presumably there's a reasonable chance not only of Mars analogs being common, but that a percentage of stellar systems already known to have exoplanets may have one of their own. (Hard for us to currently detect, of course)

Mars is the worst...except for all the others

Amcredible episode! I think colonization of moon and Mars will come long before we’ve explored them. The colonization will accelerate exploration just like America was colonized before it was fully explored.

That sounds pretty likely to me too, although we'll have the advantage of modern remote-sensing tools like satellites and orbiters to help get the lay of the land prior to the pioneers on foot (or via wheeled vehicle)
