Emby plugins, plus the Real-Debrid plugins are now open source

zurg plugins are now on Emby! Six of them put your Real-Debrid, AllDebrid, TorBox, Premiumize, Offcloud and Debrid-Link accounts straight into Emby as ordinary movies and shows with artwork and metadata. No mount, no rclone, no second service to run. Install only the ones you have, they don't need each other.

The Real-Debrid plugins for Jellyfin and Emby are now open source! The code for both is on GitHub at https://github.com/debridmediamanager/rd-zurg-for-jellyfin and https://github.com/debridmediamanager/rd-zurg-for-emby and every release there has the plugin ready to download, so RD zurg installs on its own straight from GitHub and the README walks you through it. Read the code, build it yourself, send me pull requests!

Emby doesn't let outside plugins into its catalog so these are downloads. Grab the file from DMM, drop it in Emby's plugins folder and restart Emby. Paste your account key on the plugin's settings page and run the sync once. You get a movies library and a shows library for each account and it syncs by itself every 6 hours after that. Needs Emby 4.9 or newer.

The first sync on a big account takes a few minutes, every one after that is much cheaper.

Different releases of the same film show up as versions of one movie, so the 4K and the 1080p sit behind the same poster and you pick one when you press play.

Every file plays through a link inside your own Emby that is signed for that one file, so a link that leaks out of a player log can't be replayed against the rest of your account. Scans and metadata refreshes never touch your debrid account. The RD, AD and TB plugins also play the video inside a stored RAR, same as on Jellyfin.

All seven Jellyfin plugins got a fix this week too. Jellyfin was reading the 1920 in 1920x1080 as the year, so some films landed in your library as movies from 1920 that never matched anything. Update the plugin and it also corrects the films already filed that way, and you keep your watch history.
