RULES FOR FLYING DUNGEONS

I've done it. I've written a Dungeons & Dragons hack.

They said it'd never happen. (I said it would never happen.) But here, in the twilight of my years at the ripe old age of 38 (it was my birthday this month, I'm older now) I'm experimenting around with the format of the one-page RPG and what it can be.

So: this one page game is a set of rules that you can staple to the side of D&D. Pretty much any edition past third should function, and odds are it'll work with the new one as well. It can also play well in The Black Hack or Into the Odd if you ignore the Difficulty Class nonsense, and Mork Borg if you group the listed stats together like they did, and... I dunno. Mutants and Masterminds? That used D20s.

However because I wrote it, it's rules for flying dungeons (and castles, keeps, large basements, wells) around the place, crashing into other dungeons, and stealing rooms you like for fun and profit. I think there's a whole campaign in this. Who wants your dungeon? Where can you fly your dungeon to? Can you fly your dungeon, or is it more that it goes where it wants and you style it out around the edges?

The art is hand-drawn (obvs) but also hand-painted with acrylics, because I wanted to add some light visual charm. The Lost Tower of the The Mad Mage is the second dungeon I painted - Redhand Keep, which is much more traditionally dungeon-shaped, was the first. But I ran out of room. So it's going on the back.

Anyway. I'm off to The Netherlands this weekend to take part in KAMPING KITBASH, which is very exciting. I get to teach a bunch of people how to make games, but I'm really interested in filling my pockets with as many spare miniature pieces as I can fit. I'll let you know how it all goes.
