Episode 16: Oh My God The Banks Are Out Of Oil
Hello and a heads up for the start of this episode: We discuss the recent murder of Seattle resident, UW student, and trans woman Juniper Blessing. We recorded this episode the day after her name was announced, and we were both extremely distraught. We discuss the ridiculous cruelty of her death and the general sadness of living as a trans person in the modern American world. If you find this triggering and upsetting and would like to skip it (which trust me, I get it if you do), the mainline episode begins at 7:58.
Today, in the actual episode, Jordan and Vicki go to the bank and take all their oil out, because the banks are out of Group III Base Oils!!! (Victoria does indeed go John Oliver mode again about base oils btw, hope y'all enjoy that.) Then, Jordan describes a perfect car which is totally illegal to buy (thanks to one weird trick Hyundai DOESN'T want you to KNOW). Then we discuss the fact that we all live in the Fast and Furious Cinematic Universe, forever, as NBC is making like four shows. Maybe. Who knows anymore tbh.
As always, our theme song is off Stella Spazzatura's Horse Tranquilizer Simulator.

Satisfied VW ID4 owner reporting in, updating the whiteboard to “it has been ✨1✨ week since my car was savaged on air” 🤣
This episode reminded me of the time I randomly got stuck in the traffic jam caused by Paul Walker’s accident (lived in NorCal; driving from SoCal. Now live in Seattle, thankfully). But that made the “driving into heaven” bit morbidly nostalgic for me. (Also used to be a yinzer. No wonder I love yinz so much)
Cool and Good to be living in a collapsing empire.
The intro really spoke to me, thank you for caring and talking about this so openly. Being able to someday be around so many other trans women is one of the things that keeps me going, and hearing about it secondhand makes it feel achievable. Much love from Texas (for now.) <3
F95 BMW mentioned?!?! I worked on that car! That was one of my projects!
I was also at the screening of again again and it was so nice being in SUCH a high density of trans folks. Dead Domain from YouTube was there taking video of the crowd and that was the first time I've been photographed (outside of selfies) while fem hahaha
Jordan said my car was pretty 🥹
Vin Diesel is so into DND that he did a promo one shot on Critical Role, back when it was part of Geek & Sundry, for The Last Witch Hunter playing a homebrew class based on his character Kaulder . At that time Matt Mercer had enough free time to make a robust enough class for a tie in one shot that it has since been developed into a full class on DND Beyond called the Blood Hunter. Easily that movie's most lasting legacy.
I can't wait til Again Again is shown near me. Trans people making incredible art on a tiny budget is one of the few things giving me hope for the future.
Confusing Gal Gadot with Ghislaine Maxwell is sending me xD
Thanks for the reply! This was my mistake. There's an option to skip silence in audio under the replay speed settings of AntennaPod which was to blame.
☹️ Audio level in this file is so low I can't play it in the car 😢
It’s only the first 30 seconds of so. I was worried too!
Y'all should get John Oliver on as a guest and do a bit where you try to convince him he's an egg
There may not be food on shelves yay
thank you girls for informing me about a horrible tragedy I would have been completely unaware of otherwise (I know that sounds kind of sarcastic but I'm serious), hope you both have a good chance to try to relax this weekend
Thank you <3
Great show 💖 The start was heavy but necessary and I'm glad you talked about it because goddamn I feel it too, but also glad the rest of the episode had some real laughs, and a particularly chatty Beep Beep :) Also "Cringe Oil: Thick and Lube-y" is gonna be the name of my Portland burlesque revue :)
Please stop editing out dead air as aggressively. It makes your speech sound very clipped and has me thinking I accidentally changed the audio speed. I love the podcast otherwise!
We don't really edit dead air very much!
Literally forced my auto clients into a meeting Tuesday like "y'all need to be paying attention to your dealer loyalty offers and your oil stock" One of my clients is completely screwed cause they have 3 VW group brands.
