Episode 12: Finally, The Perfect Cop Truck For Hiding Inside While Watching A Mass Shooting

Hello and welcome to the dozenth Tran Girlismo! In this episode, we discuss the fact that RAM will now sell any cop in the country a 6500-pound 103-mph-rated Pursuit Sledgehammer. Then we discuss the Hyundai body-on-frame Ford Bronco - I mean Toyota Land Cruiser - I mean Nissan Pathfinder - I mean Boulder Concept. (Shockingly, Victoria actually likes something for once.)

We round out the discussion with a talk about the rumored new Chevy Camaro/Buick sedan?? and Jordan fills in Victoria on how Porsche is running the money printer at full speed to take advantage of Rolex collectors who like to street park in LA.

As always, our intro theme is by Stella Spazzatura off horse tranquilizer simulator!

I keep trying to class up the PCA with my crapcans. It's like Naruto-running into Area 51: if enough of us dirtbags show up, who's gonna stop us? (Most of us are fine! I swear!) Also, they are CHARGING for Guards Red now. CHARGING FOR IT. IT IS AN EXTRA COST ON THE SPEC SHEET. PORSCHE, ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME ANGRY?! Between this and making a ***convertible*** GT3, what the hell are they even doing anymore? I predicted the worst when I saw they grabbed an exec from McLaren, and it looks like it's coming true and worse. McLaren doubled down on special editions so hard that everything they released seemed to be a special edition, and then there was such a glut of special editions that nothing they released felt special anymore. That's a yikes from me, dawg. That's the kind of business strategy that can pad the numbers in a K-shaped economy, sure, but I don't think it's particularly sustainable in the long run. Even the investor-dweebs got SO tired of McLaren pulling this very thing. Now, I don't have any faith that the top end of that K will ever get slapped down to reality in my lifetime because we live in hell and nearly everyone in power gets money from the ultra-rich who push them to maintain the status quo. Hope is dead, and I probably won't even ever be able to afford a Cayenne to tow my 944. I will be slapping plates on the race car forever, until I die, and possibly dailying the silly thing when everything else keeps shooting up in price so high that my one reliable car ends up getting pressed into daily-driver duty. (Well, if I can ever move it up from Texas, anyway. Good grief, the price of everything is so cooked now.) I still think parsh would be better served by a solid entry-level manual 911, plus a next-gen Box/man/944/914-style entry-level sports car. A fun car. Not a crossover. A car, like the cars that built parsh's whole image. The GT4 problem is a canary in the coal mine, IMHO. What's left of Porsche's "because racecar" brand image if they're no longer known for race cars and sports cars? They should be throwing a Macan into Baja racing, too, IMHO. If Porsche makes it, they should race it. Send it or sit down. You know what sickos will keep coming to your showrooms and parts counters years, decades, or hell, possibly centuries since I feel like life will spite me by keeping me around for too long on this toilet earth so I can suffer through the 42nd timing-and-balance-belt swap on the only Porsche I can afford? Those sickos who buy the nice car once they feel like they've made it, and then a few years later, decide they'd like a slightly newer nice car, or even a nicer version of the nice car? Yeah. It's not the investment goons who'll jettison their convertible GT3 for the next newest, shiniest thing. It's the real, true sickos who can scrape together their Dentist Money (TM) for whatever 911 they can afford. There has to be an on-ramp for the merely Okay-To-Do. A brand has to remember to water its Real True Car Sicko Garden with more attainable versions of its cars. It wasn't the GT3 RS BBQ WTF that saved Porsche's butt in the '90s; it was the more mass-market Boxster and Cayenne. (This has been a person who is supremely dissatisfied with the direction of a company that's CHARGING FOR GUARDS RED WHAT ARE WE EVEN DOING HERE going off in the comments. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk, I guess.)

The jeep Grand wagoneer is also what seemingly every Nebraska middle aged lady who manages a chain restaurant drives.

Listening to the conversation about tactile buttons whole driving a rental newish Kia van with 100% touch screen controls on everything not on the steering wheel was a hell of an experience.

I have harsh words for whatever genius decided they could save flashy UI by making it so you have to toggle between climate control and the radio, using the same buttons for both.

Born too late to explore the earth, born too early to explore the galaxy, born at just the right time to have the "aspirational but attainable" 911 ripped from my grasp and put up on the "alternative asset" shelf 🙃

Seriously. :( All I've ever wanted is a 911 and I feel like I'm never going to even get close. Everything, but especially 911s, is just so damn unaffordable.

at the risk of sounding like a huge dork, lately America has kind of been feeling like a nation run by and catering to the classical idea of a dragon - a bunch of big monsters sitting on piles of gold that will kill you if you try to get like 10 coins from it to buy some bread

I saw an F150 Lightning that belonged to the city recently. Every now and then I eye listings for used ones, they’re so cheap rn compared what they were selling for new.

I know it's not a Questions Post, but I am curious. I'm a cishet white dude who drives a lifted '99 Land Cruiser on 35s. I've got a sticker on it that says "y'all means all" with the pride flag. What else can I do to indicate that I'm not a threat

T
Tran Girlismo (& Victoria Scott) · April 24, 2026

Pride flag sticker is always good - I also usually check to make sure there's no skulls or blacked-out American flags, so if you lack those, I would give you the benefit of the doubt lol

I HATE the software defined Audio/Climate knobs. Controls should work by feeling for them. This control should be classified the same as texting while driving. Of course someday they will let you customize them... for a monthly subscription.
