Hello everyone! First off, thank you for your patience while I was out on vacation; my wife and I had a lovely time (in large part thanks to our ever-wonderful hostess and my dear friend November Kelly) and it was nice to be away from All This Goddamn Shit for a bit. I'm home now and am wading directly back into the shit, I assure you.
First off: you can now preorder Tran Girlismo T-Shirts and bumper stickers! These will be printed by reputable shops and I will personally mail them out myself in the coming weeks; preorders end April 20th.

As we keep getting priced out of the hobby more and more, what all is left for car enthusiasts? I've personally turned to simulators to somewhat satisfy the desire for track driving and bicycles for the customization and wrenching aspect.

Jordan, can we get more details on what it was like when you were baked out of your mind at Anthrocon? Victoria, I've heard horror stories about the "Seattle Freeze" in the trans community by you; do you have any advice on how a new girl could meet other folks there, without falling victim to this?
Many of the people in Gen-X (my generation) bought crappy cars and wrenched on them at home as kids, which meant we ended up owning a lot of cars that were legitimately lousy. But the cost of cars, even used cars, has gone up, human-servicability has become more difficult, often requiring special tools and software. The last car I worked on with any regularity was a 2001 BMW Z3, and even with that I was wary of doing anything particularly complicated. So are we simply doomed to work on the same 30 years of cars (1970-2000) forever, no matter how old they get? And if no one is building them any longer, what happens when we run out? Is wrenching even really a thing among the kids these days?
