Episode 8: This one is about Aston Martin, the UK, Broads, and Being Abroad
Hello folks, once again it is Jordan here, as our dear Victoria is finishing up her European Goodwill and Cultural Exchange program. So, like a substitute teacher rolling in a TV cart with a big ol' CRT on the top, I am going to be doing the show notes for this week! Also, just a note, Victoria wasn't on her usual setup, because she is obviously not at home right now, so she's gonna sound a lil different.
This week, we talk about many things such as, my wedding to our darling editor Stella, and Victoria's trip to Pittsburgh to join me for said wedding! (Mostly I think she was there to ride the funicular, but like, the wedding was for sure part of it)
Oh also, we have a track map for the Freedom 250! It is so bad
We talk about that, catch up on some news we missed while we were in pre-recorded episode land, and boy howdy minus the smiling friends thing it's all been real dire in ways that aren't funny!
Speaking of things that aren't really funny Bahrain/Saudi GP cancelled!
The news that we're losing a month of F1 due to American misadventures leads us to talking about how F1 has started this year, Jordan's thoughts as a long time fan, and whether it's interesting in the right ways. Spoilers: You're probably falling for the Chud Agenda if you don't like it.
To cap it all off, I lead Victoria through the very dumb lifecycle of money spending and corporate partnerships that has lead to Aston Martin selling a track car derived from a race car derived from a track car derived from a road car
It's a great episode, and it was honestly so nice to record again after a few weeks off due to wedding, power outages, and travel. We should be back to normal, but in the mean time, make sure you are subscribed to our $4 and up tier here on Patreon to get access to our second bonus, which was a feature length commentary track for the very first Fast and Furious movie.

Spent a good five minutes of commute going “wekwekwek” like a guinea pig (I’ve never heard one so it was mostly guesswork) and then it morphed into duck noises and, well. Thank you for that, I needed that
The squeaky Scotch bottle cork SFX from actual Scotland are delightful.
listened to this episode yesterday and last night i had a very vivid dream where i was at the freedom 250 grand prix and when the race started all the cars immediately flew off the track and hit me
Oh god I hope this isn’t a prophecy
I enjoyed listening to this installment while (=^.v.^=) programming in the middle of the night :)
Ohhhhhh boy, Don Panoz is about to throw hands from the afterlife upon hearing the DeltaWing called a Nissan. This is the motorsport catch-up podcast I needed right now as someone who got hella burnt out on watching the pros and fell out of the loop. Big OOF at Alonso's steering being designed like my 411's, though. The 411's death wobble has and continues to injure me in stupid ways (read: I keep driving and not fixing it).
it's so hard to calibrate the new F1 ruleset because the qualifications and the super clipping is objectively terrible but the show on sunday has been really good??? but is it good because it's "artifical"?? am I being fooled??? am I watching some type of pro wrestling key jangling scripted TV show???? is all motor sport fake?? is the whole "mercedes have terrible starts" actually a FIA diversion? is this all a simulation???? is any of this even real??????
sometimes I have to sit back and remember that F1 has on multiple occasion screwed with the tires mid-season and completely flipped the tables on a championship running order so it's at the very least always has been at least kind of fake
If you’re gonna come here for the 250, can you at least do a live show? I know I’d come
And you mentioned it right after I typed this up
Congrats on wife!
At least the Aston F1 team doesn't have drivers sensitive to massive vibrations, like a man who signed his first F1 contract when Dale Sr was still alive, or someone with a massive wrist injury that never properly healed.
the best Canadian driver since Gilles
honestly got a little confused for a second when I heard "April should be back to normal"
like, appreciate the vote of confidence I guess
Driving on country roads on the west coast of Ireland made me understand why it produces so many rally drivers. Tiny twisty roads with no shoulder and a 60mph speed limit. I remember one that had a narrow stone bridge in the middle of an S curve.
Congratulations on getting married Jordan! It sounds like you all had a lovely time and I bet your wedding was the best photographed event of the season. Scotland sounds wonderful as well, and I hope Nova and her squad are in good spirits. Speaking of film, I have an ancient chemistry textbook that has a bunch of like chemical recipes for various types of developer. I'll see what's in there, I think Devon could make sense of them, I remember they mentioned having taught chemistry once.
BUFFALO MENTIONED
Fuck I should go to Anderson's
On the subject of trans girls driving round Scotland, I did this last April in an Audi A4 estate. The road up by Loch Lomond required entering into some kind of fugue state, but it was one of the most beautiful sunny days I've ever seen. And at the end of it I took a nice picture of a dead boat in the sunset just round from Fort William. Then the day after I did the road over to Applecross which is one of the sillier roads I've ever driven.
