An Update On My Early Access Policy

TLDR: Increasing my Early Access Period from 30 to 90 days.

Hi All,

Since my Patreon to Sims Mods a few years ago, my goal was to always to publish a new update at least once a month. That quickly stopped being the case. To make up for that, I started setting my Early Access Period to 30 days which I've mostly maintained in order to incentivize myself to publish updates more frequently.

However, as I've gotten more experience with Modding, I've come to realize that modding just takes this long when you're one dude doing it, and as I get more ambitious with my modding as well as continue development on my original projects, I've come to realize that I'm going to need more sustained income in order to not get into the death spiral of financial worries fueling pressure to post an update fueling pathological demand avoidance, etc. etc. Basically, the generous early access period is having the opposite impact on my ability to mod and game dev and my mental health in general. I also realized recently that theres some Wicked Whims features that have been Patreon exclusive for like two years now! I'm not going to go that far, however. As you'll see from this latest Gay Archetypes Update I've extended the early access period to 90 days. There is no pressure for anyone to stay subscribed for the entire 90 days. Once the updates out, any hotfixes usually come in the first week or so as people report problems. This is mostly so that I can gurantee some income as I'm working on major updates for other mods, including the big Gainers and Feeders reboot coming this Fall.
